Apparently Strikeforce is ready to get on with the semi-final round of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix. The first two quarter-final bouts were contested in February, while the second two ended up being delayed until June. MMA Junkie has the news:

Multiple sources close to the promotion on Thursday told MMAjunkie.com that an event set for Sept. 10 will host the third leg of the grand prix.

A host city has yet to be confirmed at the time of this writing.

Those two semi-final bouts would feature Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem against Antonio Silva, and Sergei Kharitonov vs. Josh Barnett. The card also has four rumored (and as of yet unofficial) bouts assigned to the card: Ronaldo Souza defending his Strikeforce middleweight title against Luke Rockhold, Gegard Mousasi vs. Mike Kyle, Roger Gracie vs. Muhammed Lawal, and Josh Thomson facing the debuting Maximo Blanco. If this all goes according to plan, it seems like one of these bouts would have to be on the undercard. The finals for the Grand Prix are expected to be staged in February of next year.
