Ovince St. Preux and his management team asked to fight Gegard Mousasi last month, and Mousasi recently said he'd be cool with that. Strikeforce has apparently booked the fight for their yet-unannounced December 17th event, according to a report by MMA Junkie.

OSP has looked quite impressive lately, rattling off five straight wins in Strikeforce and eight overall. His last win was a 72-second TKO of Joe Cason at Strikeforce Challengers 17 in July. Mousasi was last seen in Strikeforce when he went to a controversial draw with Keith Jardine at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley in April. Most observers felt that Mousasi handily won the fight. He has fought once outside of the promotion since then, defending his Dream light heavyweight title successfully against Hiroshi Izumi at Dream: Fight For Japan in July.

The event has no rumored location yet, but it will likely be headlined by a Strikeforce lightweight title fight between champion Gilbert Melendez and Jorge Masvidal. Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, Gina Carano, and Jardine's middleweight debut are also expected for the card.
