It has been a transformative last few months for WWE NXT, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

PWInsider reported more details on the reporting structure Tuesday, including that the creative team no longer is operating independently of WWE as had been the case in the Paul Levesque "black and gold" era.

For now, according to the report, NXT creative will directly report to Bruce Prichard and Christine Lubrano similar to how both Raw and SmackDown's creative teams operate.

They also reported that longtime creative team member Johnny Russo will head up NXT creative. After moving to the NXT brand in August 2019, Russo (no relation to Vince) had been the lead writer for the brand since July 2020. He had been involved with main roster creative dating back to the fall of 2011.

Additionally, Dewey Foley and Anthony Golden Jr. will remain on the NXT creative team.

The news comes after last week's developments where William Regal, Brian James, trainers and referees were released due to the "continued evolution of NXT 2.0."

"NXT creative will directly report to Bruce Prichard"...that explains a lot

Idk as someone that actually watches, I'm not sure if I wanna give Bruce credit for how much better 2.0 is than 2021 black and gold was :slip:

I wasn't giving Bruce credit XD. I hate/dislike the guy, I was just saying that explains some of the decisions and such I am sure.

Maybe i'm just misinterpreting this article but to me it reads as if there's almost a bridge there now between NXT and the main roster with creative reporting to these people, something which they definitely didn't seem to have before and was one of the main criticisms people had with it.

I'll credit Dewey Foley for 2.0 being entertaining so far

Would make sense with the Waller/AJ stuff being actually acknowledged on Raw in comparison to the recent Joe/Kross stuff when everyone was like why isn't Joe showing up on Raw to attack Kross or why are they not acknowledging that Kross lost to Jeff Hardy on NXT lol

What’s wrong with Bruce? I like Bruce Prichard.

I’ve enjoyed 2.0 a lot so far I’ll give Bruce credit for that.

Other than DC, no one that watches here seems to think so and all he does is say "but it's not indy NXT" over and over lol less people seem to watch tho and ratings are dropping, so i most definitely wouldn't call it a success. Just calling it entertaining and I'm still not giving Bruce credit for it bc still think it'd he so much worse if he had his hands more in it lmao

The NXT and Rampage discussions are probably the most positive ones we have weekly tbh now that I think about it....mostly bc less people watch each but there's no hate watchers like Raw, SD and Dynamite :lol

Yeh to me this just means more main roster like angles and obviously that's not something I want more of as the main roster isn't cohesive at all a lot of the time. But ya, I'm obviously not a fan of wwe main roster creative so more of that on nxt is not a good thing for ppl like me. But that's just the reality, nxt is no longer the cool punk rock cousin that has all the super talented indie kids, it is developmental raw. Just reality ig. I still hate it lol

I'd sooner have it this way with them taking a firm interest in the people there and actually grooming them for the main roster as opposed to a bunch of indy guys they were never going to care for.
