Referee Robert Hinds ruled a knee to the head thrown by Trujillo (10-5, 1 NC) as Bowling (11-4, 1 NC) was working his way back to his feet was illegal, though replays later showed it was a legal blow. Because Bowling could not continue, the bout was ruled a no-contest.

UFC president Dana White, incensed with the referee's decision, awarded Trujillo his win bonus anyway.

As much as I love to see a fighter with heart. If he took an unguarded knee to to the head, chances are his nogan was a little wrecked after that. Smart move to stop the fight, and it's good to know that a rematch will happen.

You never wanna see stuff like that happen but sometimes it does.
