Sky Sports said:
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp admits he is still unsure about whether he would want to become the next England coach.

Redknapp is the overwhelming favourite to take charge of England following Fabio Capello's decision to resign last month.

The Football Association has drawn up a shortlist of contenders for the role and an announcement on Capello's successor is expected to be made towards the end of the season.

However, despite the clamour for Redknapp to be handed the job, the Spurs boss appears to be torn regarding the idea of leading the national team.

With Redknapp beginning to distance himself from the England job who else is coming back into the frame?

Wait and see

"I'm not sure," Redknapp said in an interview with L'Equipe when asked if he would like to manage England.

"I have a very good job at Tottenham today and I like it. But I do not know. We will wait and see."

Quotes of the week

"I have a very good job at Tottenham today and I like it. But I do not know. We will wait and see."

The 65-year-old enjoys the challenge at White Hart Lane and admits the demands facing an international manager are totally different to those at club level.

"When you have a club, you are looking for a striker and you take them. When you're coach, you must do with the players you have in your country," he added.

"If you do not have a good scorer, you have none. And you almost never see the players. Two days every two months, it is very difficult."

If Redknapp does secure the job, he will take England to Euro 2012 and he believes that the Three Lions have been drawn in a tough group.

He continued: "The French team has a good team. It will be difficult for England at the Euros. The group is difficult with Sweden and Ukraine.

"I believe Laurent Blanc is doing a very good job. The 2010 World Cup was a disaster, but he has come in and done a great job."
I'm not sure why Harry has doubts, I think he should get the jobs after the Euro's and Pearce should take control at the Euro's.

I'm not sure why Harry has doubts.

The pressure is ridiculous. You can go from "genius & saviour" to "imbecile" within the space of one match. The English media is pretty damn savage when it comes to the performance of the national team.

True but Harry really needs to make his mind up because ever since the England speculation has started Spurs have fallen dramatically.

Dramatically is a bit harsh

They've played Arsenal, Man Utd, and Everton away, hardly sure fire wins by any stretch of the imagination. They're unlucky to have not got at least a point from those three matches, and they STILL have Chelsea to play next.

It's merely coincidental. Speculation began just a week before a difficult period of games.

Yeah but they should have beat Arsenal even know Arsenal played them off the park because they were two goals to the good. A team in 3rd Place should be able to beat two teams below them.
