Kagawa has played fantastic in every game since the Madrid, and has just come off a hat-trick, why would you not include him? Nani has had a poor season but has had one good game, and he starts. Baffles me. I'm not even that fussed about Rooney not starting to be honest, but I'm baffled as to why Kagawa isn't. He's our most confident player on the ball, and his Dortmund background does us huge favours. Argh.

So in a game you need workrate to cope with a Madrid team who's hitting some form you play Ryan Giggs in a position Rooney was made to play, especially with the tie in the balance. This is either Fergie's greatest trick or his worst.

All I can think of is he's thinking of using Nani on the break? He's quicker than Kagawa isn't he?

My formation isn't confirmed. It's most likely this:

Da Gea
Rafael Vidic Ferdinand Evra
Carrick Cleverely
Nani Welback Giggs
RVP

or

Da Gea
Rafael Vidic Ferdinand Evra
Nani Carrick Cleverely Giggs
Welback
RVP

Evra is a POOR DEFENDER, but great going forward. Giggs does track but Welback would do better in that position. In a game where we NEED THE BALL we have taken out Kagawa (best on the ball with RVP and this guy -->) and Rooney.

I have no optimism with his choices but I hope he has proven me wrong again. Nani's last game was great, and he is a much better winger than Valencia atm. Meh meh meh meh meh. The team who started against Madrid last time > this.
