A massive barbecue and must-see matchups highlight a special Fourth of July Raw
Raw is hosting a huge cookout throughout Monday, and everyone on the roster is invited … including WWE Champion Dean Ambrose. Will The Lunatic Fringe bring chaos with a side of coleslaw to the festivities? Plus, who will come out on top in a 16-Man Elimination Tag Team Match pitting American Superstars against global competitors? Before your favorite Superstars fire up the grill, check out what’s in store on what promises to be an explosive, star-spangled edition of Monday night’s hottest show.
Could The Miz score a leading role in this summer blockbuster?
It’s doubtful whether hot dogs and hamburgers are in line with The Miz’s strict Hollywood diet. However, after Monday’s barbecue festivities draw to a close, he could be dining out on a victory over the WWE Champion. Live on Raw, the self-professed “A-Lister” battles Dean Ambrose in a Champion vs. Champion Match you won’t want to miss.
Will Cena get payback against The Club?
John Cena is one of the most patriotic American Superstars in history, so expect the phrase “Don’t Tread on Me” to have an even greater meaning for the Cenation leader this Monday night, one week after The Club’s three-on-one attack left him battered on the entrance ramp.
Despite facing insurmountable odds against AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, Cena will roll into Raw looking for a fight, clad proudly in red, white and blue.
Are "Team U.S.A." world-beaters?
WWE.com can confirm that Raw’s Fourth of July celebration will include tag team action on a global scale when “Team U.S.A.” battles “Team World” in a 16-Man Elimination Tag Team Match. Which American Superstars will clash with a squad of international competitors? Stay tuned.
Can Titus O’Neil capture star-spangled gold?
After turning back Cesaro’s U.S. Championship Match opportunity on SmackDown, Rusev will defend America’s title on the Fourth of July against Titus O’Neil, who defeated The Bulgarian Brute via count-out in a non-title bout last week on Raw.
Rusev has made his U.S. Championship rivalry with O’Neil intensely personal since WWE Money in the Bank, when he defeated and humiliated the imposing Floridian in front of his own children. Since then, O’Neil has been more determined than ever before. As he stated in a WWE.com interview last Monday night, O’Neil is “tired of just sitting back and waiting to be a champion.” On Independence Day, the wait might be over.
Will a former SmackDown General Manager join in Monday’s festivities?
Once we learned that SmackDown will go live on USA Network Tuesday, July 19, former SmackDown authority figures — including Teddy Long, John Laurinaitis and Corporate Kane — have resurfaced to state why they should head up the blue brand in The New Era. Since Monday will be a celebration no one in the WWE Universe will want to miss, you can bet that at least one former GM will be looking to drop by.
Catch all of the action on a special Fourth of July edition of Raw at 8/7 C on USA Network, and be sure to tune in to Raw Pre-Show at 7:30 ET, only on the award-winning WWE Network.
