Raw Five-Point Preview: Aug. 17, 2015
The last time The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar were in the same building together, all hell broke loose as these heated rivals tore each other and the locker room area apart in a wild fistfight. Now, The Beast Incarnate and The Deadman are scheduled to appear on Raw, six nights before their WrestleMania 30 rematch at SummerSlam. Will WWE officials be able to maintain order as two of WWE’s most dangerous competitors meet under the same roof?
1. Will The Phenom and The Beast brawl before SummerSlam?
Before they battle in one of the biggest rematches in WWE history at SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker will be in the same arena at the same time on Raw. The last time these combustible elements came together under the same roof was on July 20, when The Beast and The Deadman traded furious punches in a fight so chaotic, it required an army of Superstars and law enforcement officials to pry the monstrous rivals apart.
Will The Anomaly and The Phenom wreak havoc once again? If so, can anyone stop them from destroying one another before their SummerSlam bout even takes place?
2. Should Orton watch his back on Monday?
Sheamus was just moments away from becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion last Monday night after storming the ring and Brogue Kicking titleholder Seth Rollins. Unfortunately, despite Mr. Money in the Bank’s long and storied history with Randy Orton, The Celtic Warrior turned his back on The Viper, leaving himself susceptible to an RKO out of nowhere.
His hopes of cashing in his Money in the Bank contract dashed by WWE’s calculating Apex Predator, Sheamus vented his frustrations on SmackDown, vowing to “Brogue Kick a hole” through Orton’s chest on Raw and continue his assault until the serpentine Superstar is “reduced to dirt and erased from existence.”
Following Sheamus’ bold and vengeful proclamation, will Orton be keeping his head on a swivel Monday night, or does The Viper welcome the challenge?
3. Will Cena meet Rollins face-to-face on Raw?
Live on Tough Enough Tuesday night, United States Champion John Cena finally addressed WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins’ title-for-title challenge at SummerSlam, revealing he’ll be cleared to compete in the bout after suffering a severely broken nose at the hands of The Architect in July.
Not content with Cena accepting the SummerSlam challenge in Orlando, Rollins railed against The Champ on SmackDown, demanding that Cena meet him face-to-face on Raw. Will the Cenation leader risk further injury before SummerSlam by confronting Rollins, live in Minneapolis?
4. How will Lana get payback against Rusev and Summer Rae?
Rusev and Summer Rae seemed pretty proud of themselves last week on Raw, where The Bulgarian Brute’s sinister girlfriend trapped The Ravishing Russian in Rusev’s excruciating Accolade. The painful and humiliating display was punctuated by the debut of a Rusev-emblazoned Bulgarian flag, which the former United States Champion later called a symbol of “the Rusev legacy that is going to last for thousands and thousands of years.”
But what of Lana’s legacy? After Dolph Ziggler was brutally injured by Rusev on July 6, The Ravishing Russian has been fighting an uphill battle against her former associate and her devious doppelgänger. How will Lana retaliate this week?
5. Which Diva trio will stand tall before SummerSlam?
The defining moment of the Divas Revolution looms ahead at SummerSlam, where Team PCB, Team B.A.D. and Team Bella clash in a Three-Team Elimination Match. The Divas division has never been more competitive, making momentum crucial as that nine-Diva duel approaches. Which team will pull ahead as the race to SummerSlam reaches the home stretch?
Don’t miss Raw at 8/7 C on USA Network, and be sure to tune in to Raw Pre-Show at 7:30 ET, only on the award-winning WWE Network.
