RAW Five-Point Preview:

20150416_RawPreview_TripleH_LIGHT_HOMEPAGE.jpg

Extreme Rules is fast approaching, and Triple H is returning to restore order as he prepares to make an important announcement about the return of “WWE Tough Enough.” As the WWE Universe awaits what the WWE COO has to say, what else is in store on this week’s must-see Raw? WWE.com has some ideas.

What’s on Triple H’s mind?

We learned last week that WWE COO Triple H would be returning to Raw this Monday night with big news about “WWE Tough Enough,” but the exact nature of that announcement has been shrouded in secrecy. What details about the next season of WWE’s groundbreaking reality series will The Cerebral Assassin unearth?

Additionally, Triple H can’t be happy with the recent tensions between Kane and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Will the Director of Operations face severe consequences for his actions against “The Future of WWE”?

Is Roman Reigns ready to be the Last Man Standing?

Roman Reigns might be a powerhouse, but that doesn’t mean he was able to shrug off the beating he withstood at the hands of Big Show last week on Raw, when the giant chokeslammed The Big Dog onto the roof of a taxi cab. Reigns was already reeling from his brutal WrestleMania main event against Brock Lesnar, and The World’s Largest Athlete surely exacerbated whatever lingering injuries he might have been suffering from in the wake of The Show of Shows.

In a WWE.com interview with Michael Cole later in the week, Reigns said he was determined to “bring a big fight to Big Show” in the near future, but that was before Big Show convinced The Authority to schedule a Last Man Standing Match between the two rivals at Extreme Rules. How will Reigns respond to this news on Raw?

What’s next for Paige?

After winning a Divas Battle Royal on Raw to earn the right to face Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship at Extreme Rules, Naomi — a longtime ally of The Diva of Tomorrow — launched a calculated sneak attack that resulted in internal injuries for the raven-haired No. 1 contender.

After further evaluation, doctors advised Paige to refrain from competition until further notice. Does this put Paige’s title opportunity in jeopardy? Will Naomi suffer consequences as a result of her actions? We’ll learn more about this caustic situation on Raw.

Who will retain the “Miz” name?

What’s in a name? Clearly, quite a bit. After Damien Mizdow picked up a huge win over his former employer on Raw, The Miz demanded a rematch, but it was Mizdow who upped the ante for their next and, presumably, final battle: Whoever wins on Raw retains the right to the “Miz” brand, including entrance music, catchphrases and attire. Will The Miz lose his “A-lister” accoutrement to his stunt double-turned-assistant-turned-nemesis? What will this mean for Mizdow if he loses? Regardless, the lives of both of these Superstars will be forever altered Monday night.

Is Seth Rollins afraid of losing his title at Extreme Rules?

Being WWE World Heavyweight Champion is one of the most enviable positions on the planet, but we’re not sure we’d want to be in Seth Rollins’ boots right about now. On Raw, after both Rollins and Randy Orton earned the right to select stipulations for their WWE World Heavyweight Title bout at Extreme Rules, The Architect determined that The Viper’s RKO — the most effective tool in his arsenal — would be banned during the contest. That’s all well and good, but Orton went on to decide that the match would be waged inside a steel cage, effectively separating “The Future of WWE” from his Authority associates, namely J&J Security.

Rollins might not be victim of an RKO next Sunday, but there are plenty of ways WWE’s Apex Predator can inflict pain — especially inside a cage. Is Rollins losing sleep over his impending clash with The Viper, or is he devising a way to make the Steel Cage Match stipulation work to his advantage somehow?

WWE Promising Major Raw Announcement With Triple H

WWE are promoting Raw’s big selling point this evening as a special announcement from Triple H. This will mark Triple H’s return to television and he will be announcing details of WWE’s new Tough Enough show.

It seem probable that the announcement will be the Tough Enough host. There’s a good possibility that it will be Chris Jericho, although rumours of his involvement are unconfirmed. All that is known for certain is that Stone Cold Steve Austin won’t be returning to Tough Enough, due to what he says are scheduling conflicts.

The promise of a major announcement and Triple H’s return will hopefully lead to an increase in Raw ratings ahead of this coming weekend’s Extreme Rules show. Hunter hasn’t been seen since his victory over Sting at WrestleMania 31. His wife Stephanie won’t be returning just yet as she’s currently on a short sabbatical with the Eisenhower Fellowship business leaders program.

Also scheduled for Raw is clarification on Paige’s status, following the attack from Naomi last week. It is thought that the angle was done to write Paige out of storylines for the time being, as she is due to shoot a film for a Christmas release.

There’s also a possibility that WWE will use Raw to offer some clarification on Daniel Bryan’s legitimate injured condition. The lack of firm answers are worrying and it is unknown what Bryan’s status is for tonight.
