SmackDown Live Results:
— The show opened with a recap of last week’s events regarding AJ Styles, Shane McMahon, and Daniel Bryan. Backstage, Styles showed up in WrestleMania gear and Bryan said if it was up to him, Styles would still be fired, and that Shane is on his way to the arena.

Styles came to the ring and said he’s not sorry for a thing, and that both WrestleMania and Smackdown need him. He said he’s untouchable, and he can do whatever he wants, like put Shane through a car window, and still get rewarded for it with a WrestleMania match. He promised to do it all over again, and meet Shane in the parking lot again this week, where it will go from bad to phenomenally worse.

1. Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos defeated American Alpha (c). Jimmy Uso crotched Jason Jordan on the middle rope when the referee’s back was turned, and Jey Uso hit a superkick to get the pin and make the Usos the new champions.

— The Miz and Maryse aired “exclusive footage” from Total Bellas, which was Maryse playing both Bella roles and The Miz portraying John Cena.

2. Randy Orton defeated Baron Corbin. Dean Ambrose taunted Corbin from atop a forklift mid-match, allowing Orton to hit the RKO and get the pin. After the match, Ambrose accepted Corbin’s challenge for an Intercontinental Championship match at WrestleMania, and then hit Corbin with Dirty Deeds.

— Backstage, Orton was giving a postmatch interview when the lights went out. When they came back on, Orton was attacked by an army of men in sheep masks. They held him as Bray Wyatt appeared and explained that Orton exposed his one flaw: Sister Abigail. But now Abigail’s power is inside Bray, and he cannot be defeated. He sang “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands” and then the lights went out again.

3. John Cena defeated Fandango. Tyler Breeze accompanied Fandango to the ring dressed as Nikki Bella, who Fandango referred to as “Breezy Bella.” Breezy got in the ring to interfere, but was taken out by Nikki. Cena and Nikki then hit their finishers on both and locked in stereo STFs as both members of Breezango tapped out.

4. Carmella defeated Becky Lynch. Natalya sat in on commentary for this match, but quickly got in the ring and clotheslined Carmella, drawing the disqualification. Mickie James ran in and joined the fray, as did Alexa Bliss and even James Ellsworth. Bliss laid out Mickie with a punch, then posed with her championship in the ring.

— Miz and Maryse presented another parody of Total Bellas.

— AJ Styles was in the parking lot waiting for Shane, but Shane made his entrance into the arena and called Styles to the ring. Styles came out and apologized for what he did, but when he got in the ring, Shane attacked him. The two men brawled outside the ring and Shane put Styles through the announce table with a top-rope elbow drop.

Okay...so...I have to be brutally honest...

After watching RAW yesterday I decided to finish watching the first season of
Lucha Underground because I needed to rinse my eyes out with some good
wrestling and interesting characters...and...well...after Pentagon Jr. & Vampiro
delivered possibly the most visceral match since King of the Ring 1998...I just
can't be bothered with SmackDown...

I'm sure the show was good...but...I don't care today...not after Ultima Lucha...

Alright, now I'm off to watch the show.

I was feeling generous and gave it a nine. The Miz/Maryse stuff was fantastic. The Uso's winning the Titles could salvage the division, as new Champs hopefully means a new focus on the division. The Styles and Shane stuff actually made me interested in their match which I thought was impossible.

The Orton/Bray stuff has jumped the shark though, and I didn't even bother watching the women's division stuff as I knew it'd just be terrible in every way. Miz and Maryse carried SmackDown this week for me.

I loved it, but man that tag match was awesome, I never enjoyed the Usos so much. Probably gonna have a kickoff match at mania but they deserve to be on the main card after that performance.

Miz and Maryse were comedy gold. Loved it!

Shane and Aj stuff was nice, the start didnt make much sense with shane sneaking in and then calling AJ out but they did the spot really well!

A damn good example on how to build towards WM. 9/10

SmackDown's back on track after last week's underwhelming episode. This week's show was good. 7/10

The opening segment with AJ Styles was good.

The Miz and Maryse were great and the highlight of the show.

The Usos vs American Alpha was pretty good and the title change was absolutely the right call. Hopefully the division gets treated better from now on.

Everything else was solid.

Great episode. I rated 8/10 only due to the fact I skipped the women's match. Everything else was great....well, except breezy bella. That was kinda awkward lol.

I skimmed the first half of the tag title match. But shortly after I started actually watching, man did it get great. American alpha are having a tough time getting over. Personally I think they can be future superstars but it's going to take some help. They have no personality yet.

The Uso's however. They're in a totally different spot than they were this time last year. They actually get cheered now, by a lot of people not just kids anymore lol.

Like the direction bray/Orton is headed. Fitting. And luke harper seems to be in the picture somewhere.

Miz and maryse as John and nikki was hilarious. Initially I fast forwarded through a large chunk until I noticed cena looked a little funny then went back and watched. Glad I did lol.

Corbin and ambrose is nice. The rough nature of it really suits them. Hopefully some type of hardcore match at mania.

Aj and Shane. Man, I tell ya. I initially wasn't a fan of the idea. I thought Aj deserved better. But hats off to smack down. They really know how to build storylines.

All in all I'm definitely interested in the smack down half of mania. And admittedly, a lot of Raws half as well.
