Opening
The show opened with Daniel Bryan claiming that Dolph Ziggler voluntarily gave up the US title and he announced a tournament starting tonight. Then several tag teams came to the ring to discuss who would be the number one contenders to the tag team title. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable were first, Aiden Engish and Rusev were second, then the New Day came out. Bryan made a triple threat for the number one contendership.

Benjamin and Gable won and became the number one contenders to the championship
Backstage
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan discussed Vince McMahon, with Shane telling Bryan he may be ruthless but he built the company, redefined the business and he is Shane's father. And Daniel told him he thought Shane was acting like his father, throwing his weight around. Shane then said Daniel was throwing his weight around by making a US title tournament when he could have just made a match between Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode. Bryan countered by saying this is the land of opportunity. Shane then criticized Bryan for making a match between AJ Styles and Kevin Owens without barring Sami Zayn from ringside. Bryan countered that their feud was vicious and he felt it was goof to end the year with them.
Breezango vs the Bludgeon Brothers
The Bludgeon Brothers won by DQ when the Ascension came and hit them and rescued Breezango. Backstage the Ascension, who lobbied for the match to begin with, claimed the Bludgeon Brothers went to far and they said that Breezango is challenging the Bludgeon Brothers again.
Ruby Riott vs Naomi
Riott won by pin fall, although the Riott Squad interfered many times to help. After the match, they continued to beat Naomi until Charlotte came to help. They eventually got the better of her though. Then Tamina, Lana, Natalya and Carmella came to the ring. The Riot Squad then left. But the women then came out of the ring and beat the Riott Squad into retreat.

Bobby Roode defeated Baron Corbin to advance in the US title tournament

Jinder Mahal won to advance in the tournament.
AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens
During the match, Shane came to the ring to eject Sami Zayn. This distraction allowed KO to take advantage and pin AJ. He stared down Shane when he left the ring and Shane apologized.
