Adam Cole and the Undisputed Era won the War Games match when Adam Cole pinned Eric Young

So, slightly drunk whilst doing this but my thoughts.

Big Lars vs Ohno - good opener, lars is set for big things.

Black vs Dream - holy shit, second best match of the night, absolutely amazing.

Moon vs Sane vs Royce vs Cross - yeah it was good, finish was good

Almas vs McIntyre - EL IDOLO YEEEEEEEE

War games - speechless, absolutely fucking speechless, it was a masterpiece from start to finish.

10 rating we out here

 

[Death Walker]

Each match had a bit of a story to tell whether it was a great one or not, I'm glad that Ember won the NXT Women's Championship finally (now they need to keep her interesting as a champ), Black vs Dream....an amazing story with an amazing match (please let them feud so more), great War Games match but I wanted a little bit more of a struggle before the finish (still, great job by all involved). I'll rate this show a solid 8.

I am giving this a 7 and honestly it may have been the weakest ever entry in the entire run of Takeover.

I liked:

Aleister Black vs the Velveteen Dream ***1/2 This was a good match and told a great story. There were some good mind games from both wrestlers and I enjoyed every bit of it.

Women's Fatal Four way *** I was a bit disappointed in this match. It was a good match but it was way too short. It was less than 10 minutes long and that just really was irritating. The women deserved more time to put on a great match.

War Games **** This was definitely the match of the night. Killian Dane put on a great performance when he controlled the entire match for several minutes. But it was Adam Cole's night when he took a superplex off the top of the cage, fell through all of the men waiting to catch him, hit the mat and THEN KICKED OUT of the pin fall. How did he do it? Because he's Adam Cole BAY BAY.

I didn't like:

Lars Sullivan vs Kassius Ohno * Yeah I know Sullivan's gimmick is squashing everyone. But then don't have this as your opening match. That's NOT the way to start off an event.

Adrian "Cien" Almas vs Drew McIntyre ** First off, I don't like either guy. Second off, the match was humdrum. Neither man, in my view, needs to be champion of NXT and Almas has even less business than Drew holding that title. Pathetic that with some of the classic title matches in NXT Takeover history, this match was even on a card.

It gets the 7 because of WarGames mainly. It was good enough to elevate the negatives of the card.

Once again a TakeOver that looked average on paper exceeds expectations. So get ready for Survivor Series to be shit XD

I wonder how long it will be before Mr. Black appears on the main roster?
Mainly because I can't see them putting the main NXT title on him...but
then "stranger things" have happened.

Well...I can't help feel this should have happened at Brooklyn III...but...
I guess hindsight is a wonderful thing. Also...just for the record...Asuka/Ember
was given 14:50 while this match featuring four women was only given 9:52.

That seems wrong to me.

Also...why wasn't Ruby Riot in this match? I mean...it would have made more
sense for her to be in the match than Peyton...at least in my opinion...and
everyone here knows I love Peyton...for more than one reason.

I was actually hoping the NXT creative would pull a complete swerve and
put the belt on Peyton...but no...

Also...can Peyton Royce & Billie Kay be drafted to SmackDown now please?

Wasn't Almas a "jobber" employed to make the newer talent look good? How
did he become the NXT Champion?

I'm sorry but I don't really follow NXT besides the women's division...so I'm
sorry if I seem kind of ignorant.

The last time I remember seeing Almas he was getting his teeth kicked in by
Mr. Black...

Drew McIntyre to the main roster? Maybe?

I do remember seeing ONE match where they used double rings... Gosh, its prob been 14/15 yrs ago. But, After watching a part if this, I may hv found a new Wrestling style/company to watch.

You're literally counting how long a match lasts instead of just enjoying the match.

I personally didn't count the times...I just found a list of match times
and was making an observation that it seems strange that a match
with more performers is shorter in length.

There were a few ugly moves especially the last one in that match, it could have been much worse depending on the landing.

I generally see all the WWE pay per views a week after
they happen...apart from the women's division matches...
which I watch asap by any means I can.

A lot of my initial comments tend to be based on the booking
decisions and who actually won said matches.

The WarGames main event sounds like it was great...but...
I'm not really invested in any of those involved.

I mean I'm a SAni†Y fan...but the tag titles weren't on the
line...so...I guess my care factor wasn't as high as it could
have been.
