- Nigel McGuinness, Mauro Ranallo and Percy Watson welcome us back to Full Sail and run down the card with a backdrop of fans with Johnny Gargano emoji signs
- Tommaso Ciampa enters to a chorus of boos, staring down fans chanting “We Want Johnny” as he calls for a microphone. He asks for silence and doesn’t get it, several times. He slowly boils over and tells us “NEWSFLASH! He’s gone! He’s not walking down that aisle!” Ciampa tries to compose himself, then decides to soak in “Ciampa sucks” chants and drops the mic and rolls out. On his way out, he grabs a Johnny sign and wipes his ass with it, then takes a bigger one from a fan and rips it up in her face. A few more folks get the same treatment, then when he takes one from a fan in a luchador mask, the fan rips off the mask to reveal JOHNNY GARGANO!
Gargano attacks, and chases Tommaso to the ring. He gets some strikes in before security pulls him off. It takes three guys, but the muscle him away and cameras follow them all the way outside the building while Ciampa regroups in the ring.
- Ranallo kicks it to Charly Caruso in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic command center. She mentions Authors of Pain win, then shows some highlights of SAnitY’s win last Wednesday. Street Profits win over Heavy Machinery is recapped as well. Caruso informs the audience about Tyler Bate’s injury and kicks it to the Cathy Kelley interview with Bate that aired on WWE.com last week breaking the news about Moustache Mountain having to withdraw from the tourney. Charly explains how Roderick Strong asked General Manager William Regal for the opportunity to replace them, and got the nod from Regal. The reveal of Roddy’s partner and their match is next!
- First, Mauro recaps the Twitter issues that set-up the Cole vs. Ohno match happening tonight, then we get an Undisputed ERA video where all three members mock Strong getting into the tournament, then say that whoever wins the Dusty doesn’t matter, because they’re just gonna lose to the baddest tag team on the planet in New Orleans. Cole then says he has a “walk in the park” against Kassius later. That also doesn’t matter. He’ll win tonight on his own, cause it’s their era and that’s undisputed.
- Roderick Strong and ????? UK Champ Pete Dunne def. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch via pinfall (Strong on Burch following End of Heartache) to advance to the second round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
Lorcan and Burch enter first, then Roddy before the reveal of the BRUISERWEIGHT!
Strong and Oney start with some fast-paced ground work, and Lorcan escapes and early submission to take Roddy to his corner with a wrist lock. Stong gets Burch to his corner by grabbing an arm, and Dunne tags himself in and goes to work on Danny’s digits. The champ tries to leapfrog off a whip, and Burch sends him face first to the mat with a drop toe hold. All four men square off as we go to a commercial.
Dunne is in control of Burch when we return. The journeyman is disrespectfully tossed into the corner as Strong and Dunne employ quick tags, a tandem suplex and a vicious sounding double chop to allow the champ to get a nearfall. The Brusierweight sets him up in the corner, then Burch nails a missle dropkick and both teams get tags.
Patented Oney fast-paced brutality ends in a somersault blockbuster that gets two on Strong. Lorcan and Burch’s attempt at teamwork goes awry and Danny sends Oney to the floor, then takes an X-Plex, but Lorcan breaks up the cover. He and Strong battle on the floor and Oney turns Roddy inside out with a Europeam uppercut while the two Brits slap each other silly in the ring. Danny wins that exchange with a headbutt, and German suplexes the champ. Lorcan half-and-halfs Strong on top of him. Burch puts Dunne in a crossface, and when Roddy tries to break it up, ends up trapped in Oney’s half-Boston Crab. He gets free and kicks Lorcan into Burch. Dunne and Burch trade moves, but after a blind tag, the Bruiserweight hands his countryman to his partner for a backbreaker, then the finish.
Dunne and Strong show more begrudging respect toward one another while Ranallo reminds us they’ll face SAnitY in the next round.
- RICOCHET COMING SOON VIDEO
- Ember Moon def. Aliyah via pinfall following Eclipse
Aliyah takes control thanks to a slam with a handful of hair while Shayna Baszler makes her way to the announce desk. She puts her feet up and tells the team Ember is going to get a reminder in New Orleans that they only way to stop the violence she inflicts in the ring is to tap, nap or snap. She does whatever she wants because no one can stop her.
In the ring, the champ stops a kick and lifts Aliyah on her shoulders for a Samoan Drop. The finish follows, and then we get a staredown/screaming match between Moon and her challenger.
- Both Dusty semi-final matches are announced for next week
- Raul Mendoza vs... never happens because Andrade “Cien” Almas grabs him and throws him off the ramp. The champ makes his way to the ring with Zelina Vega. He cuts an angry promo in Spanish, then transitions to English. He’s furious Aleister Black disrespected him and his business associate, and he dares him to face him next week.
- Lars Sullivan gets a hype video. He’ll be back next week.
- Watson, Ranallo and McGuinness remind us that Black and Almas will face off at TakeOver for the strap, and tell us Aleister will be here next week.
- Mr. Regal comes to us from his office to tease the main event, and inform us that next week he’ll have an announcement which will change the face of NXT... FOREVER!
- Adam Cole def. Kassius Ohno via pinfall following a Shining Wizard to the back of Ohno’s head
Cole is out by himself, and Full Sail’s support is split between the two main eventers. Despite the size difference, Cole gets the better of the early tie-ups... until he gets booted out of the sky on a leap frog. A senton follows. When Kassius tosses him to the floor from the corner, Cole fakes a knee injury and when Ohno reaches to pull him back in, takes control with an enziguri. He lays in a few punches and poses as we take a break.
The Panama City Playboy is in the driver’s seat when we get back, and gets a couple nearfalls off a bicycle kick and neckbreaker. Ohno won’t stay down, even after a big backstabber. Trash talking (and denying the crowd his catchphrase) gets him in trouble, though, and Kassius counters a suplex and nails Cole with a big right hand, then decimates him with kicks. A running leg drop gets two.
More strikes lead to a stiff bicycle kick from Ohno, but it’s still not enough. Cole fires up after a forearm for a flurry of his own, but eats another boot. Last Shot out of nowhere, but Kassius kicks out! An attempt at his Shining Wizard finish is countered into a powerbomb-ish move, then forearms and big running elbow put Cole on the floor. Ohno pulls him back in for a cover, but that’s reversed into a crucifix that gets two. Cole follows that with some superkicks, another Last Shot, and that’s that.
Undisputed ERA’s leader celebrates as we get the credits.
