3/10. Good PPV hype and a lot of announced matches (albeit none of them good), but the Hogan thing more than cancels that out. The show was overstuffed with filler garbage and wasn't very entertaining.

Your thoughts?

My thoughts as I watch each segment:

The fact that the Hogan/Sting/Dixie nonsense is the opening video package, and we start by seeing Dixie is a bad sign. This should NOT be the main feature of the show. Dixie did look fine though.

-Ahhhhhhh yeaaaaaaa here we go boy. Here comes my man Bobby Roode. This should be good. I was expecting Hogan or Sting to open the show, so this is a pleasant surprise.

Really good promo by Roode. Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. He addressed Sting, addressed Dixie, addressed his haters, and segwayed on to Storm. Speaking of which, just as I was thinking "Storm should come out for some dueling microphone action"- he did! This is how you build up a World Championship feud. Solid stuff. Could have done without the quick Bully Ray cameo, and did they really just book a handicap match? Not sure if want. Still a good opening segment that builds towards the PPV

-Maddie/Gail backstage: Madison on my screen is always fine with me. This storyline has left me guessing quite a bit, which I guess is a good thing. I guess they are still BFFs? Works for me. Rayne vs Velvet however, doesn't work for me. Didn't we just see that match? Don't need to see these two poor workers going at it again. The match will undoubtedly peak during the two entrances.

Kelly Kelly would have been proud of Velvet's victory, I was not. She is really really really really bad in the ring. Her promo afterwards was just as bad.

-Good, quick backstage segment between Roode & Bully. Roode sticks his hand out for a five LET'S DO IT LET'S DO IT. "That's STUPID"- Bully Ray. Lmfao

-Hogan and Dixie on a park bench? Lmao wtf is this shit. This is all so pointless. We know Hogan is going to accept the GM role eventually brother. I'm going to pretend I never saw that after I go throw up.

-Crimson/Morgan video package; I'm okay with this. I am a fan of this feud, and I'm a fan of both guys. Heel Crimson has a ton of potential IMO. Wait, what? They are having a match? Why the fuck would this not be saved for the PPV?

-Lmfao, Kurt Angle is fucking hilarious, I don't care what anyone says. Does it make sense that Angle books Hardy in the main event against Anderson? Not really, but since it means we will get Angle/Hardy at Lockdown, I'm 100% in favor of it.

-A FUCKING DOUBLE. Watup son. Oh shit, he's calling out Bully Ray. Oh snap, called him a prick. Aries' balls are as big as Bully's calves LMAO. Great promo. Oh shit again, he's teaming with Storm?? Face turn confirmed. I marked, Aries is the damn man.

-Morgan vs Crimson. The double count out was pretty much telegraphed. Pointless match, they should have just kept them interrupting each others matches or doing backstage attacks for a couple more weeks until Lockdown.

Anderson vs Hardy- I figured Angle would get involved, but I thought he would wind up accidentally wind up helping Hardy win. Helps builds toward the match at Lockdown, which will end up happening one way or another.

-Storm music video- fast forward. I hope they play it on CMT 24/7 and it makes Storm famous, but I'm not sitting through that shit.

-ODB/EY- they are so hit or miss. This was a big miss. Terrible segment.

-Oh look, it's Eric Bischoff. My final rating just lost 1 point. Now if his fuck up of a son shows up it will lose another one. Ugh, this shit is un-fucking-bearable. Garrett Bischoff- OMG the crowd is going wild, he must be so over!!!! Holy smokes! A lockdown match with Gunner! Saweeet ! Cannot wait! Side note, I feel bad for Gunner. I wasn't his biggest fan, but even he deserves better than this shit.

-Storm video package. Okay, not bad. Not nearly as good as last weeks, but it continues the very good build for their match.

-Aries/Storm vs Bully/Roode. I just fucking puked. Hogan/Dixie is going on after this, not before. Bully's calves, nuff said.

So glad Aries is in another ME match. Makes me think he will eventually get a legitimate ME push, which in turn gives me a slight chub. Aries/Bully at Lockdown would be great to see.

Overall a very enjoyable match, Aries was awesome. The finish was good, with Roode sacrificing Bully to take the super kick. Just a shame it didn't close the show, brother.

-the last 10 minutes dedicated to this bull shit. Fuck. Hey look, a Devon siting! Where's his television championship? omg, he accepted so shocking!

Overall- 5/10. Lot's of good, but the bad (Hogan, Bischoff, & Dixie) is just so bad.

From TNAsylum.com

The March 29th episode of IMPACT Wrestling scored a 1.05 rating with 1,363,000 viewers (down from last week's 1.09 rating and 1.48 million viewers). The number is much lower than what TNA was hitting this year and has to be considered a disappointment from both Spike and TNA.

Ratings ploy fail. Now make the show good again, Prichard.
Babyface Hogan hasn't been a draw since '96. Get him off TV, brother.

Q1: Impact opened with a 1.07 rating for Bobby Roode and James Storm's in-ring confrontation, plus one commercial break. (down 9.1% vs. 2011-Q1 average)

Q2: Impact was essentially even with a 1.06 rating for Velvet Sky vs. Madison Rayne, one commercial, and the first-half of Dixie Carter talking to Hulk Hogan in a pre-taped segment. (down 8.3% vs. 2011-Q2 average)

Q3: Impact peaked for the show with a 1.11 rating for the end of Hogan/Dixie, various talking segments including an Austin Aries promo, and one commercial break. (down 4.8% vs. 2011-Q3 average)

Q4: Impact dropped to a first-hour-low 1.02 rating for Matt Morgan vs. Crimson, one commercial break, and Joseph Park on the search for his brother. (down 9.3% vs. 2011-Q4 average)

Q5: Impact dipped to a show-low 0.99 rating. This is typically TNA's highest-rated quarter-hour of the show, but for the second week out of the last three weeks, Q5 scored a 0.99 rating, the lowest of 2011 and 2012. The segment featured Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson, one commercial, and various pre-taped segments. (down 19.6% vs. 2011-Q5 average)

Q6: Impact increased to a 1.03 rating for a Bischoff family talking segment and one commercial break. (down 11.2% vs. 2011-Q6 average)

Q7: Impact was essentially flat with a 1.02 rating for the first-half of the TV main event of Bobby Roode & Bully Ray vs. Austin Aries & James Storm, plus one commercial. (down 10.5% vs. 2011-Q7 average)

Q8: Impact increased to a second-hour-high 1.06 rating for the second-half of the tag main event, one commercial, and Hulk Hogan accepting the GM position in a promo with Dixie Carter. (down 10.0% vs. 2011-Q8 average)

It almost certainly will be at Lockdown, the double count out means there is unfinished business. Crimson better not lose, they should save his first defeat for when he is hopefully the champion.
Also, Hogan is just terrible on the mic. Sting as GM was so good, he made every show great by coming out and calling the shots. Funny guy.

I really couldn't care less if they want to give Hogan a token GM role and he comes out to book matches like a normal GM, but he needs to fuck off if he wants to continue taking up 15 minutes of TV time every week including the main event slots. That is just useless bull shit that only hurts the product, the ratings, the company, and the fans feelings.

I was actually a fan of GM Sting too, and I normally despise older guys getting spotlight time. But he seemed to put people over when in segments with them quite well, and can actually talk on the mic.

So true. So many TNA fans are depressed as we speak.

I remember someone predicted it on here, when TNA was awesome (February), that because the ratings didn't improve massively, and inf act went down, they'd revert tot he most Blue stuff - which they have done with Eric and Hulk. Why can't they see it's their marketing? At the moment, I see Wrestlemania ads on this site, YouTube constantly, every other site which allows ads, television advertisements on all sports channels here in the UK, special 1 hour shows, constant YouTube videos about it. Sure they have more money but 1 week of Hulk's stupidly big pay check can do all that.
