Paul Heyman cut a short promo putting Evolve over as the future and guest ring announced the next match.

Austin Theory (Evolve) over JD Drake (WWN) by pinfall with Ataxia, retaining the Evolve World Championship and winning the WWN Championship. (Winner Takes All Match)

Adam Cole (c) over Akira Tozawa by pinfall with Last Shot to retain the NXT Championship. Johnny Gargano came to ringside late in the match.

I was never a big Evolve fan, but this was a solid show. i gave it a 7/10. I am sad that Shotzi lost though.

So...is Evolve like the developmental brand for NXT?

How does it "work" exactly?

It is turning into a developmental because of their ties with WWE in recent years, but it's still just another indie promotion.

I actually think sooner or later Evolve could become the developmental territory and NXT will be its own brand.
