Hmmmm. I watched this show live and I honestly sill have no idea what to think.
Seems to be a definite 6/10 show to me, because you can't really go any lower when the wrestling was this good.
Every performer on this show brought it, as usual. I'd love to go in this locker room and thank all these guys for their effort despite the whirlwind of chaos going on around them.
Still... I kept wondering throughout the show...why.
Why did they bother with the first Chamber? Good sell by Bryan getting frog splashed after they put Uso's splash over so strong. Great reversal into the Yes-lock, but the whole post match made this whole thing just feel crazy. Now looking back at it, I don't like Edge winning the rumble, as unpredictable as it was at the time. Roman has too much history with too many guys on the roster, but I guess it really is better to save those for more meaningful cards (Mania sells itself, strangely)
Why did they make Lashley look like a killing machine in the US Title match if he's not going to get overcome.... I thought, but that makes sense. (If I owned a promotion the first thing I would do is get rid of mid-card belts. "Gosh, how do we get the belt off this guy without crushing his momentum?" Lashley would literally look so much better right now had he not won the US Title.)
The Women's Title Match...why, just why? The wine taster dude for stripper Carmella is causing a breakup between the two? Why?
Okay as for the elephant in the room. Why did they push Drew vs Sheamus so hard during the match if they were taking the title off him. Assuming Miz is just the transitional champ for Lashley vs Lesnar... why not just do that match without the belt? As strong as Lashley has looked those two locking horns can just feel like the dream match you wanted, Lesnar being back in the title picture is not only toxic, but isn't Sheamus's whole motivation for attacking Drew over the belt? You take so much off of Drew and nullify what the whole match is based on...
As for the good side, Miz as champ has at least got me looking into Raw again. Him possibly getting wrecked at any moment for that belt is fun, after all.
