For those who don't reside in the UK, We recently underwent a search that was so publicized that everyone was aware of the situation. Raoul Moat had killed a policeman for allegedly sleeping with his girlfriend (She had split up with him days before). Raoul then spoke of how he is going to kill every policeman and woman in the area. I think the killed another one before the police eventually found him over a week later. The search culminated on a friday night around 7pm and lasted for 7 dramatic hours. Raoul Moat killed himself just after 3am. My question is why would anyone claim this man is a "legend"?

Days after his death, People boasted on social networking sites claiming to have been friends with Moat, and claiming he was a legend for doing what he was doing. Hell, Numerous websites opening to commemorate his memory. This is the guy that ended peoples lives and threatened to take out the foundation of our safety as human beings. Of course, I can understand the mindset that he was in (Pissed off that someone had ruined his life) but that is still no need to vow revenge upon people he didn't know on a personal level. How can anyone consider him a legend?

Discuss.

Don't be a conservative cunt. You're taking the exact mindset of David Cameron. Obviously he isn't a Legend, but people needed to get off his back. He was mentally unstable and the last thing that was needed was the media, police and the goverment to make the biggest fucking fuss over it. Ultimately they are the reason he took his life and didn't hand himself in.

It really makes me sick how there are people around who seriously swear to themselves "Fuck the police" and wish for entire police forces to be disbanded and fired. Especially for stupid ass shit like disassociating by mentioning some police brutality that happened in LA 15 years ago and thinking it applies to all police all the way over in Kentucky or whatever the fuck. Or because they get pulled over and don't have their license because they are an elitist prick who doesn't want to be fucked getting a license "because it's too much hassle", then they get punished for not having a license and suddenly all police are pigs and need to burn.

Let me tell you something. I live in a very small town, and the gas station that I work at is the only place that is open 24 hours a day. Every other night I get angry drunks, cracked out dope heads & otherwise droogs of society come to my work place and yell at me, threaten me, give me death threats and steal shit from me all the damn time. I cherish every moment that one of our police officers walk through the door and checks up on me every night. Yeah there's rumors that we have crooked cops, everywhere claims to have crooked cops. But the point is, they are here to protect you, me and everyone. And when push comes to shove they WILL do the right thing, as it is their duty.

Nobody deserves to be murdered just because they are a cop. Nobody deserves their house burned down because they are a highway patrolmen. Nobody deserves their family to be threatened and abused just because you're a county sheriff. And what this guy did was disturbing, but the fact that hundreds or maybe even thousands of people want to sing the praises of a murderer just because they hate the police, that's even more sick than any real murder can ever be.

Did anybody here watch the documentary on Raoul Moat last night on Channel 4? I just happened to catch the end of it and it appears as if he was a very sick man. What I find interesting is that up until now the news channels and what not have failed to recognize how mentally ill this guy was. Now I don't condone him, in fact I think he was an incredibly horrible man for what he did and his actions are unexcusable, but I some how get the feeling if this guy was given the support necessarry then none of this would have happened. I am not one of these people who critize the government for everything but I feel this all could have been stopped.
