For what it's worth, FOX Sports Radio 1340 in the Washington, DC area posted this tweet that says Randy Orton will be back on WWE TV in April.

Back in January Orton denied reports that he might need neck surgery as he was still recovering from shoulder surgery he had in late 2015. The latest we heard on his return was that he was not a lock for WrestleMania 32 but they expected him back any time between mid-March and May.

This is cool if it's true. Glad to hear that somebody who's been out for a while will be returning.

Nice. They should really let him be heel this time. Have him attack someone like Sami Zayn or AJ Styles to get that heat

Orton can be good at both roles, he just needs to feel motivated.

I think it's about time Orton started challenging for the midcard titles.

Agreed has he ever held the US title? It's funny how the IC and US tile have completely switched roles on importance in a year.

Also he should turn heel and build up months of being a dick and then get into a feud w/ Brock for Summerslam.

No, he has never held the US title. And I'd love it if he started challenging for it, and not only that, but for the IC and Tag Team titles, as well.

Oh, hell yes! Bork vs RKO would be dope. Was hoping to see it during Bork's title reign, but it never happened. Shame. Hope they end up doing it, though!

I just have this image of Paul Heyman getting RKOd stuck in my head that I want to see so bad lol

My money's on a return during Wrestlemania to cost someone a title shot. In his last run, he wanted a WWE title shot. It was stripped from him due to an interference last time I remember. Feel free to correct or refresh my memory.

But, me? I'd book him as a dick, like someone else said, but this time, to heels, like... KO.

I am hoping randy attacks whoever wins the IC title ladder match. He makes his point and leaves... Then he has a feud ready for the belt

I haven't missed him. He hasn't been anything special in my book for a few years now. I would much rather see one of the lower guys get a bump then have him come back and be part of the main roster again. uggg he is boring.

Nah if he's used as a heel and helps push talent, he's cool.

Orton is too popular to be a heel imo. His last run as a heel was disastrious whenever he wasn't feuding with Bryan, and since he's consistenly one of the most popular guys on the roster, I feel they should keep it that way. I'd love to see him feud with Bray Wyatt, Kevin Owens, etc. He doesn't have to be a heel to feud with Brock Lesnar, as we're currently seeing with Brock/Ambrose. Brock is the closest thing we have to a tweener.

He dropped Heyman with one in October of '14. Ironically, it marked the only time that I can remember where Lesnar didn't take action against someone for assaulting or offending Heyman.

I'm sorry but whoever suggested Orton turning heel is either ignorant or just wants change for the sake of change.
Making a logical deduction would show that Orton is A) rather beloved and B) past his expiration date as a compelling character.

Orton is what most claim Reigns already is (though I don't believe Reigns is there yet). He's monotone and too bored and unmotivated to change.

It escapes me anybody can imagine Randy Orton giving a f*ck when he's been given ample opportunity to do literally everything. He's even been in the ring with Rock and shared a storyline with Austin where Orton was put over.

Orton is pretty boring as a face. There is no direction for him to go. His last run as a face was terrible. Thats why he feuded with Sheamus for lIke 5 monthe with no storyline. I bet you that he himself would much rather play a heel because it's more natural for him. But he will probably stay face because "RKO Outta Nowhere" and so he can cash in big fat checks for his merchandise
