Randy Couture will star in a prequel to "The Scorpion King".

UFC heavyweight champion Randy "The Natural" Couture (15-8-0) will star in "The Scorpion King: The Akkadian," a major motion picture from Universal Studios.

"It's my first lead in a feature film," Couture said. "I'm playing the Rock's nemesis, but it's a teenage Rock in this movie. It's a prequel to the others, and I'm the bad warrior king.

Would be cool if it wasnt a prequel that ruins it. Rock vs. Couture in a action scene would be real cool, but since its a teenage Rock, however they go about that, it wont be nearly as good.

Meanwhile,
Couture's next fight in the octagon will be August 25 at UFC 74 where he will defend his title against Gabriel "Napao" Gonzaga (8-1-0).

This will be Couture's first starring role and his second feature film casting since finishing the MMA drama "Redbelt" starring Tim Allen, star of "Home Improvement". According to imdb.com, Redbelt is now in post-production and will be released in 2008
