Ramsey Nijem meets newcomer C.J. Keith at June's UFC on FX 4 event
"The Ultimate Fighter 13" winner Ramsey Nijem (5-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) welcomes promotional newcomer C.J. Keith (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) to the octagon on June 22.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has confirmed with sources close to the event that verbal agreements are in place for the UFC on FX 4, and contracts are expected shortly.
The lightweight matchup was first reported by MMAWeekly.com.
UFC on FX 4 takes place June 22 in Atlantic City, N.J., likely at the new Revel Atlantic City resort, with a Clay Guida vs. Gray Maynard headliner.
While competing as a welterweight, Nijem earned his way to the finals of "The Ultimate Fighter 13" with exhibition wins over Chris Cope, Clay Harvison and Charlie Rader. However, the AMR Group client came up short in the finals against Tony Ferguson, losing via first-round knockout. Nijem then dropped back down to his natural weightclass of 155 pounds and earned a decision win over Danny Downes.
Meanwhile, the undefeated Keith makes his octagon debut. The Californian signed with the promotion earlier this year but was forced to delay his debut to deal with a few family-related issues.
Keith has been fighting professionally since 2007, competing exclusively in his home state. Keith's past three fights have all ended via knockout, including two first-round finishes.
