Ramiro Hernandez meets Hugo Viana at UFC on FOX 10 in Chicago
A bantamweight bout has been added to the UFC’s January return to Chicago.
Ramiro Hernandez (13-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will take on Hugo Viana (7-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC), with each looking for a return to the win column at UFC on FOX 10.
UFC on FOX 10 takes place Jan. 25 at Chicago’s United Center. The main card airs on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and MMAjunkie.
Hernandez vs. Viana is likely to be part of the prelims.
Hernandez debuted with the UFC in September, but was submitted just 70 seconds into his fight with Lucas Martins in Martins’ native Brazil. “Junior†had signed with the UFC after back-to-back wins in 2012 and six wins in his past seven fights.
Viana, a veteran of the first season of Brazil’s “Ultimate Fighter,†will be looking to bounce back after the first loss of his professional career. In April, he was stopped by T.J. Dillashaw in the first round at UFC on FOX 7. That loss stopped his perfect 7-0 start, which included a split-decision win over John Teixeira at UFC 147 and a knockout of Reuben Duran at the TUF 16 Finale.
With the addition, the latest UFC on FOX 10 card now includes:
Benson Henderson vs. Josh Thomson
Donald Cerrone vs. Adriano Martins
Darren Elkins vs. Jeremy Stephens
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Stipe Miocic
Chico Camus vs. Yaotzin Meza
Adam Khaliev vs. Pascal Krauss
Ramiro Hernandez vs. Hugo Viana
