Queen Latifah Finds House Of Bodies
With Peter Fonda & Terrence Howard
Queen Latifah: studio mogul? ‘Tis true – the actress/producer bypassed the usual run-of-the-mill production company idea and runs Flavor Unit Studios out of Miami. She’s using the space to host a new indie horror pic, House Of Bodies, which will star Terrence Howard and Peter Fonda.
Latifah is also aboard, playing Nicole, a relay operator at a telephone service for the deaf. She enjoys her online conversations with Kyle, a hearing-impaired lad who harbours a seemingly unhealthy fascination with all things macabre. We say unhealthy because he’s digging into a website called House Of Bodies, a voyeuristic website where girls perform in the house of a serial killer (Fonda), who is sitting on Death Row.
But while Kyle also strikes up a friendship with one of the site’s girls, Kellie, a copycat murderer starts slaughtering women and it’s up to Kyle and a detective (Howard) to save her.
The film kicks off shooting this week. Latifah has also just signed on to one of the leads in a TV movie remake of Steel Magnolias. Fonda will next be seen in indie comedy drama As Cool As I Am and Howard, who last cropped up in Red Tails, is part of the On The Road cast.
