are there any plans to start a PWINSIDER Mobile service? If so when is the expected time frame and possible price? If not would you consider doing one?
We have kicked around the idea in the past and done some preliminary checking on doing such a service. Then, we polled our message board users and there wasn't much of a demand for it. When I started checking into the pricing of it, it just didn't seem like a viable idea.
I know this is crazy given the creative situation but has any thought been given to making CM Punk a more mainstream star on RAW.? Given the current situation with the suspensions due to steroids wouldn't it make sense to push Pink and his straight edge lifestyle into the limelight? He could do some great "attitude Era" type worked-shoots on the guys whose names have been leaked and gain a lot of attention while doing so. Punk has the charisma and the talent and it's annoying to see him wasted on ECW and jobbing to John Morrison every month on PPV.
Yes, it sure is crazy considering that he only got the ECW Title because of Morrison's problem and the plan right now is to put the belt right back on Morrison when he returns. Personally, I would like to see Punk get a greater push but I don't know that it's a great idea to make the straight edge lifestyle a focal point of Raw right now. It could be seen by some as admitting there is a problem in the company which is probably not the best idea right now.
Hi, just to follow up on my trademarked name question from a few days ago... if wrestlers changing their legal names to retain their ring trademarks doesn't hold up in court, how did Warrior get away with it? I thought that he changed his name to "Warrior" just so he could use the Ultimate Warrior gimmick, which otherwise was owned by the WWF, and he successfully won the rights to his name (and took it to WCW, among other things). Wouldn't that be precedent, or was his just a special case?
The former Jim Hellwig wrestled as The Dingo Warrior in Texas before coming to WWE. There, he was made The Ultimate Warrior. WWE trademarked that and owns the name. Then, Hellwig changed his name to Warrior. A court ruled that because he had prior use as The Dingo Warrior and because WWE didn't own the copyright to "Warrior", he was able to use it.
How would you rate the 8 minute match between Val Venis and Charlie Haas from last week? I thought, Venis again did a great job in selling an injury.
I don't rate matches, I comment on them. I think star ratings are ridiculous since everyone's personal biases affects how they view a bout.
After reading the Q&A about people "Stealing PPVs", I was wondering how you felt about people downloading WWE or TNA's weekly shows if those shows are not available in their area or if these people don't have cable/satellite TV.
That is still technically illegal I guess but I don't as big of a problem with that (from WWE's point of view) since that isn't a product that the company sells. PPVs are, which is what makes stealing them really wrong. Their TV is a vehicle to get you to buy PPVs, so from WWE's end, they wouldn't care. The network, however, would since they pay for the programming. They would want you to buy DirecTV or something to watch their channel.
