Do you think WWE could make Rey Mysterio work as a heel? I just feel like there is nothing left to accomplish with him as a face, and heel run with him telling off fans and people who doubted him because of his size would be good.

I think the idea of a heel Rey Mysterio is intriguing, but I don't see it ever happening. Rey sells a ton of merchandise, and I doubt WWE would want to risk cutting that off by turning him heel.

Recently I saw on WWE24/7 a clip of Ron Simmons winning the WCW title and it got me thinking. Who was the first black wrestler to win a world title? Was it Simmons, or did someone win it before him that can claim to be the first black world champion?

Ron Simmons is generally recognized as the first Black man to hold a singles World Title as a result of his WCW Title win. There were major stars that held top titles before him (Bobo Brazil was U.S. Champion, Junkyard Dog was North American Champion) but Simmons was the first to hold a recognized World Title.

I was wondering does Kurt Angle have a lot of power in TNA? Does he have input in his character? And did he have this kind of power in the WWE?

TNA just released several wrestlers as a cost-cutting measure, but they gave Kurt Angle's wife a contract. I think that is a pretty good indication that Kurt Angle has more than a little say in what happens with his character in TNA. And no, he didn't have that kind of power in WWE.

I was watching the WWE ladder matches compilation the other night and I saw, for the first time, the Ric Flair-Edge one. I came to two conclusions: 1) OMG this is a proof that Ric Flair is the best wrestler of all time (his ring performance and psychology as a near 60 years old performer is incredible) 2) Why is WWE not showing the entire match, i.e. without the commercial breaks? I understand the TV obligations but as the match doesn't stop for the break, the cameras shouldn't either. Do you have an explanation for this edition choice?

First of all, you are correct, that match is amazing. As for them using the TV version, my guess is that because the match was broadcast that way, it is easier for WWE to transfer it to DVD that way, rather than editing the additional footage that took place during the commercial break, not to mention dubbing in commentary, since I don't believe WWE announcers continue to call action during breaks.

I don't understand how it is that Val Venis has been with WWE forever, yet never seems to get pushed. What's the deal?

Whenever you ask about Val Venis, you always get the same answer. "He's a great hand" or "Very talented performer" and then when you ask why he isn't utilized better, you hear "I don't know" or "Creative hasn't come up with anything for him". He's good enough that WWE keeps him on the main roster, but he is then relegated to Heat or getting squashed by someone on Raw.
