CM Punk banged up his knee in the spot where he jumped off the top rope with a flying elbow onto The Undertaker and the announcers table. People backstage were amazed that Punk didn't slow down and finished the match because he was in a lot of pain.

Sad thing is I think it was his right knee, also. The left is the one he injured and had surgery on previously, so now he may have pain / injuries with both knees. Hope he didn't bang it up too bad and will be OK.

(ETA: I think he's still on the cards for the international shows, but then is off of the house show circuit when they get back to the states for a while.)

Shoot, I thought so. He looked in so much pain when he tried to get up after he flew into the table and we never saw him leave after Taker won. Poor thing, this is why I love him, he fights for the fans even though he's injured. I hope gets better quickly.

Reports are he's taking some time off now, so he should be able to heal up a bit and hopefully come back in a tweener role.

That's what you get when you can't break a table.

Maybe he should take flying elbow lessons from Shane McMahon...

seriously though Punk is always getting hurt. He should learn to be more safe :pity:

Maybe you can help me out with that. Do you know if he's still on the cards for the international tours starting next week? I know he was out of the house show circuit prior to Mania and understand he's suppose to also not do house shows post-Mania. However, I was thinking he's still on the cards for the international shows. If that's the case, I don't understand their logic of giving him weekends off to heal but making him work....what, 11 to 14?....consecutive days overseas as if that won't take a toll. Unless they just have him on the mic and not wrestling, I didn't understand that.

It was reported on a week or so ago, but no specifics were given. Sorry :downer:

No worries, it's just one of those things I wondered about. #WWElogic :eek:tunga:

My theories are: if he is on the tours, perhaps its just for a promo or an interference, kind of like when he hurt his knee and Heyman took on Ryback during house shows. Or it's a "card subject to change" scenario and he's completely gone for a while.

Hats off to him to finish the match after that then. Hopefully he gets a long vacation, he's been working hard for a couple of years now, he deserves some time off. Just hope his knee will be okay though, don't want him to be out of wrestling entirely.
