- WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair seems to be on the road more these days as a goodwill ambassador for the company than when he was an active competitor. One of the main differences is that Flair is now able to bring his wife on the road with him. According to people close to The Nature Boy, he was going nuts in April and early May when he faced the fact that he really wasn't going to be wrestling full-time again. They say after about a month, Flair got over the aspect of missing being in the ring and is really happy now about the way life is going.
Flair was brought into RAW two weeks ago to do the angle with Chris Jericho because Shawn Michaels felt that he needed to take a week off or else it would weak his own angle with Jericho, plus WWE wanted a big surprise for the show. After it was all said and done, there was a lot of second guessing that Flair's big return to RAW after his retirement was wasted because of how it was put together. As previously posted, WWE went back and forth on whether or not to announce Flair was at RAW on the website. Some wanted to announce it, feeling it would draw ratings and others wanted it to be a surprise with the hope that people would realize you can't miss RAW because you never know when something like a Flair surprise will happen.
- WWE claims that last night's SmackDown and ECW tapings in Houston, TX was a complete sell out of over 14,000 fans.
- CM Punk has worked hard to improve his reputation backstage, according to multiple sources. There are still some skeptics he has to win over, but he's gone out of his way to shed his rep for being "snarky."
No word yet on whether he's won over RAW lead writer Brian Gewirtz, who referred to him in the past as an "Edge knockoff." Gewirtz was also known to mock the way Punk rolls his wrists.
---------------
Good to hear, they sold out. But I dont like that Brian Gewirtz doesnt like Punk. Probably because Gewirtz is a nerd, but whatever, he isnt an "Edge Knockoff", lets hope he gets a proper push.
