Reflections from the eyes of child sex abuse victims in digital photographs could be used by police to catch paedophiles.

According to new research from two UK universities, the images of people reflected in the victim's eye can be identified with the help of advanced camera technology.

I'm not sure I understand how this would work. It seems like someone would have to be near the victim snapping photographs of a person's pupil to make this work. It doesn't seem like a practical solution, not to mention it looks really creepy.

lol the image taken from said eye would be the last thing the child ever saw. I think the evidence would be stacked enough.

It's crazy this just got posted, as i was reading it earlier today from the ONS/EAR board i hit up in their threads. Do I think it's possible? Yes. Do i think it will be credible for prosecuting people? Not for at least another decade. Still though, pretty damn interesting read, but I tend to think about it like early DNA, it's going to be really hard to get that image how you will want it, and you will risk losing it all with one mistake - for now.

well and it will be hard to convince anyone with certainty that the person in the picture is actually said defendant. I think it will be great in upcoming decades but yeah i assume it will require murder or those terrible deals where kids are pictured in for chimo shit.

yes but there is work also on the possibility of reanimating eyes after deceased to play back if you can - the horror movie it was used in before was creepy as hell but it's interesting to see how it goes.

I think it should also be noted the pedos wont be using 800$ cannon cameras, making the work much harder...i have to assume.

Yeah if it is possible that is sweet, but I'd use it for other things rather than just child abuse cases. I'd be using that for all types of murders. I wonder why the article was directly linked to chomos

probably the easiest way to sell the short term while they figure it out, as the murder stuff seems logically confusing as hell tbh.
