LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville police have made an arrest in an 18-year-old rape and sexual assault case.

Police arrested 53-year-old James Woods on Tuesday in connection with crimes that happened on Kingston Avenue near the Americana Apartments in January 1993.

Police arrested Woods at his home on West Muhammad Ali Boulevard.

Detectives said Woods' arrest could lead to more evidence and other sexual assault cases in the area at the time.
