The ring apron says NXT so this is before Smackdown starts. I expect that more people would have arrived closer to the bell time since they didn't want to watch NXT.
I do expect Smackdown crowds to be down though since WWE has buried the brand since the latest draft. They pushed Orton as the only face and he doesn't have a big enough fan base. If they pushed half a dozen faces up and down the card it would draw better.
Smackdown is always like this. I went to the RAW and Smackdown tapings at the MEN. First night was RAW arena more a less completely full. Smackdown comes and all the top tier on one side is empty and half on the other.
Exactly WWE move everyone over so that the camera side looks packed. As long as WWE treat Smackdown as the number two show rather than an equal with RAW, Smackdown will draw smaller crowds.
