Phil Baroni vs. Karo Parisyan helps complete Bellator 122 card
The fight card is set for Bellator MMA’s second “Summer Series†event, and UFC vets Phil Baroni and Karo Parisyan are among the main-card additions.
The event, Bellator 122, takes place July 25, on the eve of UFC on FOX 12, at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif. The main card airs on Spike TV following prelims on Spike.com.
The organization previously announced two Season 10 tournament finals for the card: welterweights Andrey Koreshkov (16-1 MMA, 7-1 BMMA) vs. Adam McDonough (11-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) and middleweights Brett Cooper (20-9 MMA, 7-4 BMMA) vs. Brandon Halsey (6-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA).
Joining them on the main card are welterweights Baroni (15-17 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and Parisyan (23-10 MMA, 1-1 BMMA). Baroni looks to shake out of a 2-7 slump when he makes his promotional debut. Parisyan, meanwhile, recently picked up his first Bellator victory (and the first knockout of his career) after stopping Ron Keslar at Bellator 116. We talked to him after the win:
Kicking off the main card is a “Summer Series†light heavyweight tournament semifinal between Liam McGeary (7-0 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) and Egidijus Valavicius (27-10 MMA, 2-0 BMMA). On the other side of the bracket, and in the featured prelim bout, Kelly Anundson (8-2 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) takes on Philipe Lins (9-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA).
