My first blog on the going ons of the sports world. First off, this is all I wrote and if you strongly disagree with it, then that's your opinion, but I would expect to not see any flaming if I say your team is doing badly. Also, in this write-ups, I would assume unbiaseness and write what I think and would critiscise my team if need be, so nobody should say I'm biased. The first post would be about the EPL so far, and I'll be mainly focusing on the surprise package of the league so far, Manchester City, and the team nobody expected to see prop up the end of the table, Bolton.

Most teams have now played 3 games and we have seen enough of the teams to have an idea how the season is going to be like. Here we have Manchester City, funded by new owner Thaksin Shinawatra and managed by ex-Manchester City Sven Goran Eriksson, a.k.a the Swede who fucked his secretary. The sale of Man City to Thaksin was completed only in late July, and Sven only had a few weeks to pull off his transfers. So far, so good, with the players he signed playing an important part in the wins. Of all the transfers pulled off, I think he's done a few good pieces of business, but I see some failures as well.

Best signings: Well there's a few good signings, and these 3 are my choices for best signing. Petrov, Corluka and Geovanni

Petrov has created midfield magic for Manchester City from the left wing, and looks like he deserves to play for a bigger club than City.
Corluka is still 21 and has already looked like he and Richards would be the anchor of the defence for years to come. For 7 million pounds he might have been a little overpriced but I'm sure that he'll justify the price tag after a few years.
Geovanni is free, and scored the winner against United. Nuff said.

Worst signing: I was being really picky here, but I would say Bojinov. 3 games played, no goals and now an injury. He might flop but then again, he's only 21 and has age on his side.

Predictions of the season: 5th. I think they will run out of steam at the end especially because they don't have the strength in depth the big 5 have, but I see Arsenal or Spurs faltering and one of them ending beneath them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moving on, we now look towards the end of the table and we see, surprise, surprise, we see Bolton at the end of the table. After that near relegation dogfight with West Ham four years ago, they have never been in the relegation zone until now. They have a new manager, Sammy Lee, who has no prior management experience in charge, and a largely foreign and little known players. After 3 straight defeats, the last one an unconvincing loss to Portsmouth, they find themselves at the foot of the table.

Best signing: Christian Wilhemsson. I've seen him play before and I think he has what it takes to be a starter in the EPL.

Worst signing: Gerald Cid. We share the same name but that wouldn't win him over enough on my list. He looked clumsy in the matches he played and I see a return to France for him soon

Predictions: 17th. They have too much quality to go down, and I see them winning a relegation battle.

That's it from me today. I'll be back soon with sportscenter for the other sports.

great thread phantom and i'll just give an objective opinion on what you wrote. You're right man city are the surprise package ,although they lack the strength in depth for a top 4 ,they will be definitely be playing UEFA cup football next season.Don't forget shiwanatra can provide the funds for even more signings when the next transfer window opens.Man city can also have a decent run in the cups.

i disagree with your view on bolton.anelka wants out ,diouf has also hinted at an exit, sammy lee has made no secrets of money problems at bolton and frankly they look a shambles on the pitch.Don't forget most teams have made a more than decent effort to strengthen this season so personally i see bolton playing relegation with sunderland, derby county.
