Well, for anyone who hasn't seen it, on the last edition of iMPACT (not this weeks, the week before), Petey Williams made his return to TNA after being bloodied by Scott Steiner a couple of months ago. He ran down during the Scott Steiner vs AJ Styles match (Steiner was sub for Angle cos Ray powerbombed Kurt through a table at the beginning of the show).

Now the match is going all fine and dandy, and AJ squashes the ref in the corner with his Stinger Splash. Foley gets in, Steiner smacks him with lead pipe, smacks AJ with lead pipe, ref groggily counts and AJ kicks out at two. Foley puts socko on, gets up on the apron, distracts the ref to then PETEY WILLIAMS! comes down and missile dropkicks Steiner, which allows AJ to hit the Pele and get the win.

Now, with the Main Event Mafia being on the back foot a bit, is there really any point in bringing back Petey and we suspect possibly Chris Daniels to strengthen the Frontline? Or could they be using Petey in some kind of "mole in the system" sort of thing?

Thoughts on Petey's return and where it could lead?

You don't have to label it as spoilers, Kiz. Spoilers would be if it hasn't happened yet, and this obviously has. Actual spoilers aren't allowed in this section anyway.

As far as Petey's return goes, it's pretty cool, I guess. I never minded Petey, and he's put on some good matches. We'll get Petey vs Steiner first, but I mainly wanna see Petey vs Shelley. I think the two could put on a damn fine match, and have an alright X-Division feud. They just need to be giben the ball and be allowed to run with it.

Well, on the latest impact, it was Scott Steiner & Booker T vs Petey Williams & Eric Young. Another thing is, are we meant to believe that a guy like a Petey Williams or a guy like an Eric Young could beat a guy like a Scott Steiner or Booker T?

That was kinda the point (with EY at least), imo. TNA put someone not on the MEM level so that he could be eliminated relatively easily so that the story of the match could be told (which was of course Steiner trying to gang up with Booker against Petey).

We are meant to view Petey as close to Steiner because they are obviously now in a feud. Petey is mad and wants revenge on Steiner. I know it doesn't instantly put them on the same level, but think Matt Hardy vs Edge from back in 2005. Therte eas no way that Matt was on Edge's level when he came back, yet they still had a good feud (which was booked pretty shittity, but meh). So while they're not neccessarily on the same level, TNA should try to mask that with this whole Petey is pissed story.

I am so glad Petey Williams is back.. between him, AJ Styles, and Alex Shelley, there's no real reason to watch TNA for me. Those are my favorite 3 on the show.. and I'm glad he's back :D
