What sport(s) do you participate in? If you don't participate anymore, what did you? And if you haven't participated in anything, what do you want/plan to participate in?
Not talking just saturday pickup with friends, I'm talking actual sport (teams or individual for school or local rec. league, etc.).
Myself, I played football from 5-17. I quit playing when I broke my patella and tore the cartilage beneath. I didn't quit because of the injury though, just that was the end of my final season in high school, and I wasn't going on to college to play due to grades and my own personal goals with automotive mechanics. I played Wide Receiver all throughout my football days, always been tall for my age, topped out at 6'4 when I was 16. Also played Cornerback fulltime in highschool, and a bit at safety during my Junior Varsity year (man I loved safety, roaming and cracking chests). Did a little kick return for a while as well, but quit that after the first time I got hit on one and broke 3 ribs. Enough about injury though, that's another thread altogether.
Basketball, I played for a season of JV in high school, and a season of Varsity, but ended up fighting with my Varsity coach one game, and that was that for basketball. I was a PF, yet I was 3 inches taller than our talentless center. Wasn't great, but wasn't a pushover either. Decent blocker, alright shot, not really anything major in basketball though.
Boxing. I boxed for 3 years... 13-16. I had 5 amateur fights at the 150 weight class, lost my second fight by decision. Had 3 KO's, one of which was TKO, the guy didn't come out of the corner, and a win by decision. Not much else to really say about that.
I want to play soccer eventually, got plans to try and move to England in a few years, I hear they've got a lot of amateur rec. leagues. Never know.
