Paul Rudd Up For Admission
He's in talks to star with Tina Fey
Source: The Hollywood Reporter

There was a time when Owen Wilson was considering taking one of the lead roles in comedy drama Admission. But that time was March 4, and it has passed, along with Wilson. Still, fear not: if you were wondering who might step up to star alongside Tina Fey, we now have an answer, as Paul Rudd is in talks.

Paul Weitz is directing Karen Croner’s script, which itself was adapted from Jean Hanff Korelitz’s novel. In the story, Fey will play Portia Nathan, who works as the admissions officer for an Ivy League college. While she’s been happy to maintain her mundane routine, she decides to shake things up, partly inspired by an attractive prospective student and someone from her past (Rudd) who re-enters her life, bringing the prospect of new romance.

Weitz is looking to shoot the film while Fey is on hiatus from 30 Rock, and Rudd has time available. Last seen in Wanderlust, he’ll next appear in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower and Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up spin-off This Is 40, which sees him once more playing Pete, and is out on December 21.

While The Hollywood Reporter brings word of him now being in talks, the LA Times merits a hat tip for floating the rumour first.
