I dunno if I buy that, the tag team division in the WWE continued to thrive for at least 10-15 more years.

Indeed. Nor can I think of anything specific during their early WWF run that would suggest that they weren't THE top team at time....

Their fued upon arrival effectively spelt the end of Demolition.
They uber-Sqaushed Power & Glory in 15seconds @ WM7.
Destroyed The Nasty Boys for the titles @ Summerslam 91.
Dropped the belts to Money Inc. at a house show Feb 92. (Which says to me the plan was to have them beat Money Inc. for the belts at WM8)..... Then took time out.

Then then returned, appearing at Summerslam 92 to get a 'revenge' victory over Money Inc.

Admittedly, their '97 & 00 runs did little for me tho'.
