Paul Daley has signed a contrac to compete for Bellator Fighting Championships, MMAFighting.com has confirmed. Daley will make his debut for Bellator at Bellator 72 on July 20."I've been a 'Semtex' fan for years," Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said. "He's an incredibly explosive fighter who is magic to watch inside the cage."

Daley asked - and was granted - his release from Strikeforce last week so that he could compete more often. In his last fight, Daley lost to Kazuo Misaki via split decision.

"I've been a fan of Bellator for a long while," Daley said. "When this chance came up, I was absolutely ready to make a long-term commitment to Bellator."

The native of England holds a career record of 29-12-2. He was released from the UFC after punching Josh Koscheck well after the final bell whistled in their fight.

Doesn't come as a shocker really. Nice pick up by Bellator if Daley can get his shit together.

Good signing.

I like how they are loading their roster with well known free agents ready for their Spike launch, I know it sounds stupid but I can't really get into fights if I don't know at least one of the guys involved....its why I don't watch FB prelims or Bellator.

Yeah it's a shame that he fucked up his status with the UFC. Looking forward to seeing his Bellator debut next month.
