Pascal Krauss vs. Adam Khaliev joins UFC on FOX 10 lineup
Welterweight Pascal Krauss (11-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) will welcome the UFC’s latest Chechen standout to the octagon at UFC on FOX 10.
Krauss will take on undefeated Adam Khaliev (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at the January event. UFC officials today announced the fight following an initial report from the Chicago Sun Times.
UFC on FOX 10 takes place Jan. 25 at Chicago’s United Center. The main card airs on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and MMAjunkie.
Krauss vs. Khaliev is likely to be part of the prelims.
Krauss looks to get his UFC record above .500 following a 2-2 run in the organization, which included a recent knockout loss to Hyun Gyu Lim that earned both competitors “Fight of the Night†bonuses at UFC 164. The German submission specialist and current Roufusport fighter also earned a “Fight of the Night†bonus in his UFC-debut win over Mark Scanlon in 2010.
He now takes on Khaliev, who garnered some attention in 2011 with his tornado-kick knockout of Alexei Belyaev (see below). It was one of four first-round stoppages that launched the former sambo and kickboxing champion’s pro MMA career in late 2011. Most recently, the former middleweight earned a decision victory over Magomed Magomedkerimov (7-2 at the time).
With the addition, the latest UFC on FOX 10 card now includes:
Benson Henderson vs. Josh Thomson
Donald Cerrone vs. Adriano Martins
Darren Elkins vs. Jeremy Stephens
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Stipe Miocic
Chico Camus vs. Yaotzin Meza
Adam Khaliev vs. Pascal Krauss
