Oscar Isaac Joins Therese Raquin
He'll seduce Elizabeth Olsen
Source: Deadline

It would seem there has been a casting change on the new adaptation of Emile Zola’s 1867 novel Therese Raquin, with Jessica Lange now taking a role previously connected with Glenn Close. That’s not the only piece of news either, because Oscar Isaac has joined the cast, playing the role of Laurent.

Elizabeth Olsen is set to play the eponymous Therese, a young woman trapped in a loveless marriage to the sickly, selfish Camille (Tom Felton), who also happens to be her cousin. It’s all arranged by her overbearing aunt, Madame Raquin (Lange) after Therese is sent to live with her.

While enduring life with the loveless Camille, Therese strikes up a passionate affair with hunky artist Laurent (Isaac), one of Camille's childhood friends. Therese and Laurent decide that the best plan of action would be to murder her husband so that they can live happily together, but the ramifications of their act haunt them until they’re driven apart.

Isaac has been busy of late, taking the lead in the Coen brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis and working on both Ten Year and The Bourne Legacy, which breaks into cinemas here on August 17.
