ONE FC 14 set for March 14 in Maylaysia, features Larson vs. Suzuki welterweight title fight

Asia-based MMA promotion ONE FC returns to action on March 14 at Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the headliner sees Brock Larson (37-7) meet Nobutatsu Suzuki (10-1-2) for the promotion’s inaugural welterweight belt.

The 10-fight “ONE FC 14: War of Nations†event also features bantamweights Kevin Belingon (12-3) vs. Dae Hwan Kim (9-0-1), flyweights Adriano Moraes (9-1) vs. Yasuhiro Urushitani (21-6-6) and women’s strawweights Sherilyn Lim (1-0) vs. Ann Osman (0-1). Malaysian fighter Peter Davis (7-3) will also face an opponent yet to be named.

Additional fights are expected to be announced shortly.

“Following the resounding success of ONE FC’s jam-packed events in Malaysia in 2013, we are returning to Kuala Lumpur with one of the best cards in the organization’s history,†ONCE FC CEO Victor Cui stated. “Fans around the world have been eagerly awaiting the next ONE FC world championship title belt to be introduced, and now, the wait is over. The ONE FC welterweight division is filled with the most talented mixed martial artists in the world, and we will crown the best of the best when Nobutatsu Suzuki meets Brock Larson.

“Our passionate fans in Malaysia will be treated to a night of unforgettable mixed martial arts action.â€

Larson made his MMA debut in April, scoring a decision win over Melvin Manhoef. A UFC and WEC veteran, Larson currently boasts a four-fight winning streak. He now meets Suzuki, a karate specialist who has earned all 10 of his professional wins by knockout. Most recently, he scores a first-round stoppage of Phil Baroni at May’s ONE FC 9.

Filipino product Belingon scored a devastating knockout win over David Aranda Santacana in December. He now meets undefeated Korean fighter Kim, who has shown a well-rounded approach in his career to date with two knockouts and four submissions.
