FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) - An official says a house exploded in western Ohio, leaving five people injured and one missing. At least three of the injured are children.
Fairborn Fire Marshal Carl Day says work was being done on the house's water line on Saturday afternoon when the gas line was hit and ruptured, causing an explosion. It is unclear whether anyone died in the explosion.
Cybil Poole tells the Dayton Daily News that she saw a baby among the injured lying in the yard. She says the infant was burned, bloodied and covered in glass.
Day says two of the victims were airlifted to hospitals and three were driven in ambulances.
He says the house was destroyed in the explosion and nearby residences were heavily damaged.
