As reported on TNAwrestling.com, rumor had it that TNA ownership was upset with management director Jim Cornette for failing to act on Samoa Joe's unjust disqualification from the three-way main event on Thursday's "iMPACT!". Joe faced AJ Styles and Christian Cage, with the winner earning a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at "Against All Odds". During the bout, Styles introduced a chair into the match after referee Rudy Charles had been knocked down from an errant shot. However, when the referee was able to clear his vision, he saw Joe tossing it from the ring (as well as Styles and Cage face down on the canvas). Although Joe never used the chair, the referee made the decision to disqualify Joe from the important main event. Later, Cage would go on to beat Styles to earn the shot against reigning World Champion Kurt Angle at the Pay-Per-View.
On Saturday, Jim Cornette sent the following message to TNAwrestling.com as he addresses the rumors about his job status and the Samoa Joe disqualification.
FROM THE OFFICE OF TNA MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR JIM CORNETTE:
Fans of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling,
Before this is addressed on Thursday's "iMPACT!", I thought it would be best to make a statement to our toughest critics (but most passionate fans) - the masses on the internet.
Yes, Samoa Joe got a raw deal last Thursday night. It was an important match and the referee made the wrong call - period. I've spoken to referee Rudy Charles and assured him that he won't be held at fault. He had to act on what he saw - period. Now the poor guy is asking for a security escort after he saw Joe's reaction in the locker room after the match!
Security escort for a referee...it's stuff like this that I have to deal with on a daily basis that you fans never even hear about on television. NOW do you people understand why I'm stressed out all the time?
The next morning, I got a nasty call from the TNA upper brass. They tell me the email is flooded with messages from fans upset about Samoa Joe getting "screwed" yet again. They want something done about it - and quick - or in their words "a decision will be made for me".
I'm sure many of you have also heard that Samoa Joe is in the middle of contract negotiations with TNA - and that disqualification certainly didn't help matters for ownership.
Yes, I realize Samoa Joe is like a god to our hardcore fans on the internet. You people build your fansites to him, sing his praises in your blogs and demand that I personally deliver the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to him on a golden platter (because every Samoa Joe fan online knows that even a silver platter isn't good enough for Samoa Joe). I get the message loud and clear folks! But you can't ALL go emailing TNA at once, because I ultimately catch the heat over it!
Unfortunately, that match is over and done with and I cannot go back in time and change the outcome. I could throw it out or call for a rematch, but that would be unfair to Christian Cage. And you know what? There's just as many of you "peeps" out there on the internet as Samoa Joe fans, so the last thing I need is our email servers getting flooded again from you people too!
Here's where we stand...TNA ownership ain't happy with me, Samoa Joe ain't happy with me, you the fans ain't happy with me...and you know what? I'm not happy either! My blood pressure is up, my job is on the line and I can't even look at Matt Morgan without seeing red.
What am I going to do about it? Well, I've been in this business long enough to know the answer - starting this Thursday...I'm going to try to make TNA ownership happy, I'm going to try to make you - the fans - happy and I'm going to ATTEMPT to make things right in some way with Samoa Joe without him physically altering my health and/or well-being. And then maybe - JUST MAYBE - after that, I'll be happy again and stress free. My blood pressure might go down. I would stop being cranky. I might be able to get along with Matt Morgan again. Heck, maybe I would even have the time to take a few days off to sit on a beach somewhere. But knowing this TNA locker room - I highly doubt any of it, but a guy can dream, can't he?
This Thursday night, I have to deliver a big show. I have to deliver ratings and I have to make a decision regarding the Samoa Joe situation.
First - the ratings part.
How about this?
I can personally gaurantee you that two of the TNA world championships will be defended this Thursday night on SpikeTV. Which titles? What matches? Tune in and find out like everyone else! That's how you increase ratings!
The Samoa Joe part? That's a little tougher.
I'll leave it like this until Thursday night...
I can personally guarantee that I will address his disqualification. And I can also personally gaurantee that I will have BOTH a big offer...and an even bigger opportunity...for Joe to consider this Thursday night that might put all of this behind us and make everyone - and I do mean EVERYONE (including me, ownership, the fans and Joe) HAPPY FOR ONCE AROUND HERE!
Now, PLEASE stop emailing the TNA offices until after this week's broadcast!

Thats how you build a damn TV show folks! I cant wait to see what titles will be on the line, and what Joe's offer will be! Is Joe going to be added to the Against All Odds main event? Could he finally get back into the World Title picture, or any other title picture? I just hope Kevin Nash doesnt fuck anything up.
