Words can't express how much I'm shocked by how much I enjoyed their angle on NXT last week, @Professor Booty even went from saying the whole main event "Pat is great on commentary but he better not get in the ring" to full on hype for it by the time the show went off the air

However it turns out, good or bad, I gotta say I respect Pat's hustle. Man got him a SummerSlam weekend WRESTLING MATCH, well worth quitting his punting career early IMO

I can’t lie I’m low key hyped for that match. The whole segment last week was fun and well done imo.

Dakota and Io should be fire, and depending on who else gets added to the NA title match that should be fun and most likely they’ll add Kross vs Lee for the NXT Championship.

Io Shirai vs Dakota Kai surprisingly never happened if memory serves me right with Stardom. When I started watching Stardom Dakota then Evie was leaving, but this it their prime now were getting to see these top tier ladies battle it out for our enjoyment. The Ladder Match to determine the new NA Champion has me hype for sure. Even though we don't know the last guys who will be in there I'm pulling for Damian Priest. The last Puerto Rican to win a major title that is not the Tag Titles it was Pedro Morales. Granted Carlito won the IC and US Titles, but I think it would mean more if he wins at least for me. I hope Cole Riverside beat downs Pat from every side of the Ring.

Profightdb doesn't have any matches where they were both involved in until 2018 in NXT and no singles match against each other, I'm not sure if they're Stardom database is kept updated though

They had Tag Matches involving each other, but never one on one. That is shocking to me, but she debuted in Stardom 2015 and was only there a Year or so. Io was High Speed Champion in 2014 which is like the CW Title in the Promotion and they never wrestled and by the end of 2015 Io Shirai was the Red Belt Champion there highest Title and she was never given a bone vs Io. I would say if she stayed there the next few Years for sure she would of had a Program for Io and might of won a Singles title there too. I mean Santana Garrett, Sarah Stock, Toni Storm, Bea Priestly, Alpha Female all Gaijin talent and they won Singles Titles there so high chances she might of won the White Belt at least I feel.

Watching The Bump right now but this pertains to the Pat McAfee vs. Adam Cole match...

It's so funny hearing Adam Cole being interviewed about this match and the feud with Pat McAfee and accusing McAfee of being cocky, disrespectful and a cheap shot artist and all these things, and saying that he and McAfee are "different humans". How is that? Three weeks ago, Cole would have fit that description to a t.

I mean, we accept these things because it's pro wrestling and we're kind of conditioned to people completely changing their personality and motives on a dime, but I don't know why details like these are just so often overlooked. Just say it's a matter of Cole feeling disrespected and wanting to teach McAfee a lesson about disrespecting his profession. That would be perfectly fine. Don't have Cole and everyone else completely ignoring the person he has been for the last, what, three years(?) because now he's meant to be the face.

It's a small thing really but to me, it makes a big difference. Continuity and logic is essential in my enjoyment of any kind of TV show, and stuff like this is just so easy to avoid.

Honestly feels like you are just looking for anything to nitpick bout this feud I am not gonna say its a world burner but I mean I feel like its being built pretty well so far.

I'm not even bringing this up because of how I feel about McAfee vs. Cole, I was literally just watching The Bump and listening to Cole talk and I felt like making the point about lack of continuity being one of the biggest common issues in wrestling, especially mainstream wrestling. Cole saying he and McAfee are "different humans" when Cole has been the same type of asshole for his entire NXT run so far is just silly. It's not an issue that's exclusive to this feud, just the latest example.

Besides that, I think you're taking me not being a fan of the way this was handled way more seriously than I'm taking the whole thing. I've only commented on this feud once prior to this, so how have I been nitpicking?

Tbh I can interpret that as Adam Cole being delusional and thinking he's a great guy when he's not. The feud is two shitty people wanting to fight each other in kayfabe to me. I do agree with it being better if he would have went the disrespecting the profession route though

I could respect it if it was painted as such, and who knows, maybe they'll go down that route. I do think Mauro or Tom (is he calling TakeOvers?) are good enough commentators that they might actually hint at the similarities between Cole and McAfee's personalities. That would be good.

I think the main thing that throws me off about it is just the lack of a true change of heart moment for Cole to kind of shine a light on him being a different person now. It just feels like we're missing a piece of the story, basically.
