Personal note: Sorry to start this on a Sunday night of all times. I was planning to write something about this for a while now, just been busy and thinking of what exactly to do. If anyone has any feedback or ideas on how to improve on this (positive or negative), feel free to leave a comment or PM.
Anyway, welcome to the first edition of WWEF NXT Rebound, the weekly analyzation of all the insanity within WWE's D show.
Who's the Bandit injuring Tyson Kidd's Tag Partners?
It was Percy Watson last week, now it's Alex Riley. This was the lead angle of the show, and it'll suffice. Striker found tasselsplanted put at the scene of the crime, which we saw McGillicutty tear into Watson for earlier.
It seems like a lock that it's McGillicutty in the library with the candlestick, but that could just be a red herring. The bond between Tyson and Regal make this the perfect way for Hawkins and Reks to try to force their way back into WWE, plus they found two perfect fall guys. Although it's interesting that they are using something purely coincedental and turning it to storyline fuel. Trent and Justin, get well soon.
Regal talks about the "New Talent coming to NXT"
WWECW wasn't that long ago, and the "New Talent Initiative" was deemed a failure by most casuals. Usually hate it when WWE repeats their mistakes, but casuals don't watch NXT. Could be interesting, I guess.
Maxine's change of heart?
On commentary, a sincere Maxine was talking to Regal about realizing the error of her ways. Is this a full-fledged face-turn, or simply a way to get out of the handcuffs that bind her and Johnny Curtis together? I call the second, turning Maxine would be one of the dumbest things WWE can do.
JTG lets Alicia Fox give him a one-week makeover
Not much to describe with this one. This could lead to both a JTG character change into something we can take seriously and establish a fashionista gimmick for Alicia, or they could just try to get some cheap comic relief out of this. Lets hope it's the first.
The Rekking Crew are causing a ruckus in the crowd
Why are they not on Smackdown yet? Isn't that the point of firing angles?
The NXT/Superstars matches this week:
Kidd/Riley vs Curtis/JTG was a basic WWE Tag Match, heels dominate until Tyson gets the hot tag and wins the match. Watson and McGillicutty put on a really nice match together with nice psychology which was much better than it had any right to be. Ziggler proved that he, indeed, cannot carry anyone to a good match. As much as Ziggler tried, Mason Ryan really, really sucks. Ryder and McGillicutty had a basic TV match, and I didn't bother watching Khali vs Mahal.
And, that's all for this week. See you next (hopefully) Friday night!
