Announced on today's Power, Trevor Murdoch will defend the NWA title against the winner of a tournament at this show. The full bracket hasn't been revealed but Corgan announced 3 of the first round matches:

• Pope vs. Brian Myers
• Thom Latimer vs. Chris Adonis
• Nick Aldis vs. Tim Storm

Regardless of what else is added, I doubt someone not worthy enough for the initial announcement is winning lol I'm betting on Pope, he's already had something setting up with Murdoch

NWA Champion Trevor Murdoch will now face NWA TV Champion Tyrus in the main event of the NWA 74 PPV weekend in St. Louis. NWA President Billy Corgan announced the change during an appearance on SiriusXM's Busted Open radio show this morning. During the appearance, Corgan complained about Aldis' politicking behind the scenes and that "no one is unhappier" than Aldis.


While things can always be turned into a storyline work, there is some truth to what Corgan claimed in that two sides are not currently getting along anywhere near the level they used to in the past. Sources close to the situation have described the situation as things slowly eroding and finally boiling over between the two.


One source stated that Aldis has been critical of the creative direction for the NWA, which is 100% Corgan's vision at this point, and that led to a breakdown. Another source stated that there was "magma level" heat towards Aldis for promoting himself above the NWA and for his constantly speaking out regarding Corgan's creative decisions. Obviously, the two sides have a bridge to mend going forward.

I mean, no shit he's not happy with creative, if creative's plan involves pushing Tyrus to the main event?

Yeah its gotta be a work lmao Corgan cut some weird promo on Power this week talking about how he reserves the right to remove a #1 contender for any reason BEFORE Aldis won the only way it's legit is if that was filmed afterwards and just edited in before the main event.

This makes so little sense even as a work that I guess it could still be real too cause if it's planned then why tf is Pope not the replacement lmao ya know the guy I said shoulda been the challenger over Aldis to start with lmao
