Norse Mythology Mafia
Welcome to the game! I'm afraid this will be a fairly long OP, but I ask that you take the time to read and understand it before the game begins, as some unique mechanics will be used.
Standard Rules
- You may not discuss the game in any location other than he game thread, unless your PM specifically states you may.
- Day 1 will last for a maximum of 40 hours, and subsequent days for a maximum of 30 hours. Night phases will last for a maximum of 24 hours. I reserve the right to adjust these phase lengths for any reason.
- We have a zero tolerance policy on flaming. If you flame, I reserve the right to replace or modkill you without warning. In any situation where this may be beneficial, your alignment will be punished further. Debate, debate aggressively, but do not cross the line.
- The town alignment is Asgard Aligned. Their win condition is to eliminate all threats to Asgard. A Vanilla Townie will present as follows: 'In this game, you have no role'
- Character and role claiming are permitted. In some cases, claiming character will be advantageous, and in some cases, the opposite will be true.
- There are intentional inconsistencies with how PMs are constructed. This includes character titles and also the use of Nordic alphabet. You won't be able to accurately deconstruct the game by PM fishing, and I don't recommend you try.
- You may change a submitted night action, but if all actions are received, I will consider all submissions locked, regardless of if you contact me whilst I am constructing the night post. Players using QTs should only bold actions if they are willing to submit them, if they are placeholders, I recommend you use a different convention such as italics.
- You would do well to note a certain degree of license was taken with the game, a lot of source material is unsurprisingly arcane. Historical accuracy shouldn't be a barometer here.

Unique Rules
In order to stimulate effort and activity, as well as in keeping with the theme, this game will introduce the Valhalla / Hel mechanic. Players who die a glorious death via Night Kills or another nominated deaths will go to Valhalla. Players who are Lynched or succumb to less than glorious causes will be sent to Hel.
Players who are in Hel cannot win the game, regardless of whether their alignment prevails. It is therefore in your interest to fight as hard as you can to avoid being lynched.
There are certain mechanics that can change the location of a dead players soul.
At the beginning of each phase, a roster of souls will be presented. The location of players souls will potentially have other effects on the game also.
This game also introduces the Augment mechanic. Under certain conditions, certain characters can activate upgraded versions of their roles. In some cases, the player will be made aware of the condition, and in some cases they won't. Additionally, these augments can sometimes be redacted from flips.
