I remember watching Okada vs. Suzuki from this event. Was so sick. Pretty hyped to NJPW make their UK return.

Full card set for Royal Quest night 1!

IWGP Tag Team Championships headline night one in London

The full card has finally been set for Royal Quest next weekend in Crystal Palace, London. With the IWGP Tag Team Championships in the headline spot, a big card of eight matches is on deck for NJPW’s return to the UK after over three years away.
Night one is SOLD OUT!

Night two tickets
Watch Royal Quest II in English on demand on NJPW World this October!
Will-vs-Shota.jpg

IWGP United States Champion Will Ospreay will face Shota Umino in a non title special singles match to headline on October 1. Ospreay and Umino resume a vicious feud from last autumn in RevPro, when Umino came up just short in a memorable challenge to then British heavyweight Champion Ospreay. In the intervening year, Umino has been dedicated to testing himself both in the UK, and in the US, where competition at Windy City Riot, Forbidden Door and NJPW STRONG has wowed fans and helped his progression continue apace. Can he topple the Commonwelath Kingpin and earn the biggest victory of his young career?

FTR-vs-Aussie-Open-1.jpg

The semi main event will see FTR defend the IWGP Tag team Championships for the first time against STRONG Openweight Tag team Champions Aussie Open. After Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler won the titles in a three way bout at Forbidden Door, relieving the United Empire’s Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobbof the gold in the process, Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis are stepping up in their teammates stead. Helping their case was a six man tag team victory in Nashville back in July, a win that led Fletcher to call out FTR on the microphone and issue a challenge that is now finally accepted.
With tag team competition in NJPW hot in the US and Japan, the UK presents neutral ground for both of these teams on paper, but in practice the London crowd will be 100% behind the Australian born but British made tag team. Three years removed from Aussie Open’s first big stage test against the Guerrillas of Destiny at the first Royal Quest, will triple crown title holders FTR have their reign cut short in Crystal Palace?

Tanahashi-Tama-Hikuleo-Jado-vs-Jay-Karl-Doc-Gedo.jpg

Eight man action will see the BULLET CLUB side of Jay White, karl Anderson, Doc Gallows and Gedo face off gaainst Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tama Tonga, Jado and Hikuleo. After the events of Kobe World Hall September 25, Hontai have a big time new addition in the form of Hikuleo, who sided with his brother Tama Tonga in the face of Jay White, and put himself potentially in line for Anderson’s NEVER gold. Meanwhile the bad blood surrounding Anderson and Hiroshi Tanahashi continues after Sunday’s NEVER Openweight Championship match, and Tama Tonga and Jay White want another shot against one another before Declaration of Power on October 10 in Ryogoku.

Ishii-Okada-vs-Jonah-Tito.jpg

CHAOS and TMDK continue to go to war on night one in London. With night two set to see Kazuchika Okada take on Bad Dude Tito while Tomohiro Ishii faces JONAH one on one, night one will see the two sides in tag team action. Will it be Okada or JONAH making a Declaration of Power in London?

Hiromu-Sanada-Naito-vs-Douki-Despy-Sabre.jpg

Six man tag team action will see a special preview of Sunday’s main event in London. Before Tetsuya Naito and Zack Sabre Jr. meet one on on in the headline spot on October 2, ZSJ will lead El Desperado and DOUKI to battle as Naito takes SANADA and Hiromu Takahashi to the ring. A trios match full of wildly popular members of their respective factions should create a heady partisan atmosphere in Crystal Palace, but who comes out on top?

Gideon-Khan-vs-RKJ-Oku.jpg

Great-O-Khan will have a flashback to his early days in the UK in Gideon Grey’s Legion on night one, as the duo will take on the impressive young pair of Ricky Knight Jr. and Michael Oku. After over a year of pursuing Will Ospreay and the British heavyweight Championship, RKJ finally achieved his goal at RevPro’s recent Anniversary Event, and will now have another big time opportunity ahead of him, as will former British J-Cup winner and former Cruiserweight Champion Michael Oku. The best of British will be taking on the best of the United Empire, and they’ll be looking to make a significant mark in London.

Womens-Tag.jpg

Tag team action will see a preview of night two’s IWGP Women’s Championship tournament match when the Alpha Female Jazzy Gabert teams with Kanji to face British Women’s Champion Alex Windsor and Gabert’s night two opponent Ava White. Former World of STARDOM Champion Gabert is the odds on favourite for night two’s tournament bout, but White is not about to back down from any opposition and has the best of partners in her corner in the form of British champion Windsor. Meanwhile, four year pro Kanji has been impressing in RevPro, EVE and PROGRESS on a consistent basis, and is looking to have a breakout performance on night one of Royal Quest.

Gabe-vs-Dan.jpg

Gabriel Kidd will be making his return to NJPW competition for the first time since battling Fred Rosser in Seattle earlier this year when he faces Dan Moloney. Moloney and Kidd are no strangers to one another, having faced off back in May at RevPro’s Epic Encounters event; now Kidd wants to make a definitive point that he’s back for the long haul, while Moloney wants to make his own breakout statement in the battle of two 25 year old sure fire future prospects.

Full card set for Royal Quest night 2!

Naito vs ZSJ set for night two main event

After the IWGP Tag Team Championships are defended on night one of Royal Quest II, things don’t slow down on night two with another stacked lineup headlined by a modern classic rivalry.

Royal Quest II night 2 TICKETS
Watch Royal Quest II on demand this October on NJPW World!
Naito-vs-ZSJ.jpg

The main event will see Tetsuya Naito battle Zack Sabre Jr. in singles action. After Naito’s sub two minute victory over ZSJ in the G1 sparked a massive tantrum on Sabre’s part, it was fairly clear that a long lasting furious rivalry was set to continue, and Kobe’s tag team match between Los Ingobernables De Japon and Dangerous Tekkers was not going to be enough to settle things. Sabre’s grand plan was to win the G1 Climax and use his title shot in London this weekend, but best laid plans fell to El Ingobernable, just as Sabre has wrecked Naito’s hopes for Tokyo Dome main event status in the past.
Now both men’s path to the IWGP World Heavyweight gold and the headline spot at Wrestle Kingdom are tortured at best and impossible at worst. Yet after Will Ospreay defeated David Finlay to retain the IWGP United States title in Kobe Sunday, Naito made an unexpected move. El Ingobernable went to challenge Ospreay, only to be interrupted by Zack Sabre Jr., who interjected that he defeated Ospreay in the New Japan Cup, something Naito couldn’t do in the G1. Now, this bout is set to create a nyumber one contender for Ospreay’s title. Belt or no, a main event singles win on Sabre’s home turf would do a lot for Naito heading into the back end of 2022, as would a triumphant return to the UK for Sabre. How will things play out in Crystal Palace?

Tana-Tama-Hikuleo-vs-Jay-Karl-DOC.jpg

The BULLET CLUB side of Jay White, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson will face Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hikuleo and Tama Tonga. After Kobe saw a stunning turn for the Young Gun, Hikuleo is now on his brother’s side of the Hontai/BULLET CLUB fence. How will this six man tag play out just one week before Declaration of Power?

Okada-vs-Tito.jpg

Kazuchika Okada faces Bad Dude Tito in singles action. The bad dude of TMDK, Tito showed fans in Japan what the STRONG audience already knew when he put together a string of hard hitting performances through the G1 tour, and was the first wrestler to compete in front of cheering Korakuen fans in two and a half years when he took on Minoru Suzuki of late. Then he pushed the King to his limits, and on October 2 he takes on Suzuki’s opponent on the first Royal Quest in Okada. Will Tito be a bad enough dude to beat the G1 Climax winner?

Ishii-vs-Jonah.jpg

JONAH keeps the TMDK and CHAOS theme going as he takes on Tomohiro Ishii. While the Top Dog’s issues with Kazuchika Okada on the road to Declaration of Power October 10 in Ryogoku are well documented, he and Ishii have previous too. Over in IMPACT Wrestling earlier this year, Ishii managed to pick up an impressive singles win over JONAH, including hoisting him for an incredible Vetical Drop Brainbuster. JONAH’s unstoppable run in Japan, yet to be pinned or submitted in NJPW, is perhaps in part driven by a desire for revenge over the Stone Pitbull, revenge he can pick up in London if he can topple Ishii.

10-Man-Tag.jpg

An all star ten man tag will see the forces of the United Empire take on the team of FTR, Shota Umino, Gabriel Kidd and British Heavyweight Champion Ricky Knight Jr. After the main event of night one in London, the big question heading into Sunday will be whether Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler still hold the IWGP Tag Team Championship gold, or whether it will be Aussie Open heading into this bout as new champs. With fallout from Shota Umino and Will Ospreay’s battle to come as well, a lot of moving parts are involved in a busy tag bout.

Jazzy-vs-Ava.jpg

History will be made in London, with the first match in the tournament to crown the inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion. Former World of STARDOM Champion Jazzy Gabert will be taking on British prospect Ava White; Gabert has experience and brutal power on her side, but can White’s potential see her to a first round upset?

Sanada-Hiromu-vs-Young-Guns.jpg

The second match on the card sees a huge opportunity for Ethan Allen and British Cruiserweight Champion Luke Jacobs, as the Young Guns face LIJ’s Hiromu Takahashi and SANADA. Allen is making his return to action in this match after months away with a knee injury, but is looking to hit the ground running, while Jacobs continues to make a rapid ascent, having recently defeated Francesco Akira in London. Hiromu Takahashi has been public about wanting to put together a junior heavyweight all star dream card, and may be scouting talent tonight, while SANADA will be teaching a lesson in tag team expertise tonight.

Despy-Douki-vs-Oku-Robbie-X.jpg

Starting the evening, DOUKI and El Desperado will be facing Michael Oku and Robbie X. Two of the UK’s best junior heavyweights will be facing a three time former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, who will make an aggressive and crowd pleasing combination with masked maniac DOUKI. Coming off losing his British Cruiserweight title, and then falling at a challenge to the STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships alongside partner Connor Mills, Oku wants to regain momentum in the worst way, while Robbie X is in a position to start night two off with a bang and his own definitive statement, but can they overcome Suzuki-Gun?
