Lots of highlights to come from Fantasticamania!

Cards see some big matches to come on lucha festival

The annual lucha libre festival that is Fantasticamania is less than one month away, and the cards for the one week spectacular have been revealed! There’s a lot to look forward to from our annual collaboration with CMLL, and here are the highlights.

The main event of night one on the tour in Osaka will see President Ace Hiroshi Tanahashi teaming with present and future CMLL icons in Mascara Dorada and Mistico to face Ultimo Guerrero, Stuka Jr and Francesco Akira. It’s interesting to see Akira on the rudo side of the fence in this main event, but one day after a steel cage war with BUULLET CLUB War Dogs, Akira may well still be in a vicious mindset.

February 16 in Nagoya and 17 in Makuhari will see the traditional faction tag team tournament return to Fantasticamania. Los Depredadores, represented by Volador Jr. and the debuting Magnus will face Stigma in his first appearance in Japan since 2015, and Pegasso on his NJPW debut, both representing La Fuerza Poblana. Meanwhile Titan and BUSHI will enter on behalf of Los Ingobernables De Japon, and Ultimo Guerrero and Stuka Jr will carry the banner for Los Guerreros Laguneros.

The four teams will face off in semi finals on February 16 in Nagoya, before the finals and third place playoffs take place the next night in Makuhari. Who will leave with the trophies?

The tour will culminate with two nights in Korakuen Hall February 18 and 19. Volador Jr and Rocky Romero have had a scintillating rivalry that tore up Arena Mexico through 2023, and now they face off one on one in the main event on the first Korakuen Hall night, while Soberano Jr. will face long time foe Templario.

The final night of the tour will see Los Guerreros Laguneros in high profile singles matches against the premier tecnicos of CMLL, as Mistico will take on Ultimo Guerrero, and the main event sees Mascara Dorada face Stuka Jr.

Plus, KAMAITACHI will be part of Fantasticamania. KAMAITACHI was the wild masked persona Hiromu used in intense matches during his excursion to Mexico in the mid 2010s, but a mask vs mask match with Dragon Lee cost his mask. Now, according to Hiromu himself, the second generation KAMAITAICHI will take to the ring during Fantasticamania!

It’s all part of a stunning week of action, live in English on NJPW World!
