NJPW and AJPW will be holding a joint show on April 16 to commemorate Korakuen Hall's 60th birthday, with a Joshi festival taking place the day before.
Tokyo Sports reports that wrestling shows will be part of the Korakuen Hall 60th Birthday Festival on April 15, and April 16, 2022. A Women's Wrestling Dream Festival will take place on April 15, with the NJPW-AJPW show taking place on April 16.
No cards have been announced for either show, and no Joshi promotions were named for the April 15 event in the Tokyo Sports report.
It is not clear whether or not there will be any inter-promotional matches at the NJPW-AJPW event. The report states that further details are expected to be announced in the new year.
The joint show announcement comes during a time when NJPW is also working with Pro Wrestling NOAH, as night three of Wrestle Kingdom 16 will feature NJPW vs. NOAH talent on January 8 at Yokohama Arena.
Korakuen Hall opened on April 16, 1962. In addition to the legendary venue's birthday, both NJPW and AJPW will be celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2022.
