Nick Catone vs. Chris Camozzi added to UFC on FX 4 in Atlantic City
New Jersey native Nick Catone (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) will meet fellow middleweight Chris Camozzi (16-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) this summer at UFC on FX 4.
Verbal agreements are in place for the fight, though UFC officials haven't formally announced the matchup.
UFC on FX 4 takes place June 22 in Atlantic City, N.J., likely at the new Revel Atlantic City resort, with a Clay Guida vs. Gray Maynard headliner.
The night's main card airs on FX, and FUEL TV is expected to carry the prelims. It's not clear where Catone vs. Camozzi will end up on the lineup.
Camozzi, a cast member on "The Ultimate Fighter 11," went 2-1 in his first UFC stint before a surprising release in early 2011. After picking up a victory over big-show vet Joey Villasenor in regional competition, he returned to the organization and suffered a decision loss to Francis Carmont. But he saved his job with a recent submission victory over Dustin Jacoby at UFC on FX 2 in January.
Catone, who fights in his home state, suffered losses to Tim Credeur and Mark Munoz in 2009, but he's fought just twice in the past two years because of injuries. However, they resulted in decision victories over Jesse Forbes and Constantinos Philippou. The Camozzi fight, though, marks his first appearance in 15 months.
