I don't think there's a chance of a season this year. Millionaires vs billionaires fighting over money, for a game I pay to play. I'm actually on the owners side. They put up most if the risk (they're own money). There's not a lineup of guys willing to be owners, but there is a HUGE lineup of guys that would kill to play in the NHL. 50/50 is a fair deal, the players should've taken it, and moved on. Rant over.

Maybe this means a bunch of players will jump into the Swedish top league mid season like last time there was a lock out. Our top league was insane back then and it keeps a pretty high quality level anyways. (I think it is ranked as second or third best after the NHL and maybe the Russian)

The European leagues benefit the most from the lockout, that's for sure. But my Saturday nights are so empty without Hockey Night in Canada :sad1:

I think the last time there was a lockout the Swedish Elite series got transmitted to Canada.

I think it didn't get transmitted until it was clear that a lot of NHL stars went to Sweden. This was a couple of years ago so I don't remember much

Quite a few guys have gone over to Europe already. Ovechkin, Malkin, and Kovalchuk are playing in Russia. There are some guys who've gone to Sweden, I din remember who though.

Personally, they should break the union.

My opinion.

But I find it stilly that the owners want to put rules in to save them from themselves!

You just say screw it. Call up AHL team players and start.

I'd love it if they just rebooted the league and had a massive draft. All teams get 1 ball in the pot, then snake draft until every player is drafted. That might get back all the fans they've lost. Give everyone a chance.

I would just scrap the season and start new next year. I don't know how financially it will do with so few games. On one hand EVERY game would be important
